MT1 reacted to pbalentine in First Cracked Window in over 25 years !!!
This is the reason I wont tint the bg on the 3 anymore. I also wont tint the windshield on any of them. I hear many thinking this company will fold soon.
The glass on these is defective by design. Google it and you’ll see.

I gotta say that I don’t think that was your fault. The origin of the crack seems to be beyond the frit, which leads me to believe there was damage elsewhere and that tinting just exposed the prior problem.
This is seems to have been done by installing interior trim that is against the glass. Or by some foreign impact that was in the edge of the actual glass piece.
Much like moving a crack in the windshield with heat and an ice cube, this is the same aspect that exposed a flaw that you did not cause. Window tint rarely causes automotive glass to break unless there was a prior problem.
Just my two cents.

MT1 got a reaction from CaliTINT in First Cracked Window in over 25 years !!!
This is a 2019 Tesla Model 3. I was not aggressive with heat did not even squeegee to hard. The film had even been on the car for over 30 min before that crack appeared. As I finished hanging all the film I came back with a microfiber to clean everything up and literally watched it appear from the inside. The contractor I was doing this for just about had a heart attack when I had to call and tell him what had happened ( understandably so ). Lucky for us all the customer was about the coolest guy you could ever meet. Long story short everything worked out ok in the end. The customer is cool contractor is cool and I live to tint another day.

MT1 reacted to Ryker in Blue Max Squeegee Blade vs Orange Crush Squeegee Blade- why and why no
I was a die hard blue max guy until RIchard at Solar Control St Louis got me to try the "new" orange crush. I can say that I will NEVER go back to the blue max. Blue max edges were wearing out quicker on me than the Crush is...
I can also say that the recent orange crush does not leave any marks...I had one of the older ones and it did but not the new ones....
Tried the "clear max" and did NOT like it.

MT1 got a reaction from quality tintz in What would you do ?
I know how you feel. The sad part is this guy caries a very high end product that his customers are not getting all the time. Don’t worry what goes around comes around.

I tell you, I got peace the moment I left ! Thank God I do have a legit business ,unfortunately I do not have the clientele to support it full time which is why I was working with other shops to fill the gaps.

I was in a similar situation, minus the drug recovery and relapses. I left. I spoke with the owner about what he was doing and he wasn't going to stop, so I decided it wasn't worth it quit.
Dealing with stupid stuff at a job is doable, but when it comes to ethics... if they don't match mine, it's not gonna work.

You did the right thing... life is too short to get used by crooks.

MT1 reacted to highplains in What would you do ?
I would've left the second I noticed those shady practices. In my eyes integrity is everything. Sounds like an opportunity to go into business for yourself and offer customers in your area an honest option.

MT1 reacted to Saved! in What would you do ?
I feel for you . I think most of us have been through that kind stuff. The good news is that you feel that its bad. If you dont like it then just find somewhere different. Knowing that your being forced to lie has to make your days long. Listen to me life is to short to be unhappy you need to do what is right .Dont ever let someone make you less then what you are . you are great and keep that in your heart . when you leave that guy youll see much more joy. I know for a fact that more work will come that you can take pride in.

3/4 in. Bead is the key (only after material is dry) or anchoring system needs to be used if you can’t run a nice bead
Cheers
