No offense and I mean no offense you really just need to work on shrinking. When I was learning windshields it did seem they were a little bit more of a struggle to me as well. I think though if you keep at it you'll get to where it's no big deal. Practice and cuss words makes perfect brotha.

I concur panel has to be removed just did one today. 3 10mm couple covers and the door lock thingy. Windshields ain't bad imo it's the ones before that that really sucked.

I don’t top load either unless I can’t get the sweeps out. I have a hard time with creasing when I pull the rest of the liner off.

    Shady is on point.
2 minutes cutting, minute clean and prep, 2 minutes installing, and a minute to clean up the window....perfect, move on to the next one
    Cheers

I use a side swiped all the time. Occasionally the blade will slide out but not enough to improvise. I usually just jam it back in the slot

I always explain this to people and they don't quite understand. Tint is installed as a wet method. It is necessary to facilitate the install. It would be like watering your yard and waking outside after and saying my yard is wet. I see some puddles. Should I re-water?

I had to redo a 2015 f-150 (i think, cant remember exactly what kind of truck it was) rear solid window (yes the easy one) 4 times.

The 1st time because the new guy at the shop i was working at cut the wrong shade for me,
2nd time was because that same new guy dropped the piece helping me stick it and needless to say there was way to much dirt/dust in it,
the 3rd time I slipped on my stool trying to get in rear door and me and the piece went tumbling to the ground,
and the 4th time i had to redo it was when i was completely done with the rest of the truck i was cleaning it up, putting headrest back in and sure enough it slipped out of my hand and put a huge rip in film
OH MY it was one of those days....

If I read right that guy had three daughters affected by Nassar. I don’t understand how he had so many victims and it took so long for it to catch up with him. I hope to see a lot of people that covered it up to go down as well. For me, I probably would have been in the bushes with a Gilley suit waiting for him to leave the courthouse.

Clips are tight on the doors, no shrink, and it’s a 7mm behind the door handle.

Honestly you need to stop being so technical worrying about how it looks in light from the exterior and worry more about all those fingers popping up in the right bottom corner.  Anytime you add window film, it will alter the look with the sun hits it.  If you don't want it, remove it and leave it stock.

20" will do it but I always pull 21" out of my 40" for them.   Only be 42" instead of 36" sideways.

You make it look easy. I’d have 40 beard hairs and and enough lint in it to make a sweater. I’m gonna try it on my wife’s Tahoe shortly nonetheless.

I got mine last month. I shrank a whole rear window with it and was a long process. Used one or two bars on the battery if I remember correctly. Heats up very quickly and comes to temp in 7 seconds according to lit, but no trigger lock and with the way it is weighted and squeezing trigger constantly it starts to wear on the wrist pretty quickly. I bought the full kit including the battery, charger, two nozzles, and a case. There is a nozzle which focuses the heat and I really like that. I usually use two heat guns or a torch and this was more work. Where this tool shines is at dealerships and body shops where you are having to do touch ups on the one little spot you found after you pull the car out of the bay and are far away from electricity. While I have many corded heat guns and love my Milwaukees and Metabos, this one will never replace them, but does have a purpose.

just got this thing finished. Took about 6 and a half hours and I didn’t enjoy one minute of it. Would have been ok had I taken the glass out. I couldn’t get The rear curved windows shrunk properly due to brackets and such being in the way. It was a tough curve and really needed to be removed to do a good job on. I’m not even 100% sure I could have got the tint to shrink enough even if I did remove them. He didn’t want to remove them so I just cut the film short where it wouldn’t lay down. He was fine with it, so I let it roll.
