Rear doors on a Cherokee.  You really want extra, extra slip for ones like passat and Jetta.  Last Jetta i did was a nightmare!!

I use my blu max on inside to get a rough measure. Once in place, i use blu tape on the bottom edge and align to it on install.

For some 2 pieces ones, i lay out film like normal.  Then cut down middle and tilt each side so its at a more straight angle.  Looks so much better than having it start small and end big.  Ram truck is one vehicle that i do it on.

I’ve used a wax pencil before and mark the windshield. Rubs right off when you’re done.

I’ve been using solargard nr supreme for over ten years . Tinting with it everyday ! I like it , shapes well . Installs well . The color matches the stock color that comes on the back of most vehicles from the factory . My customers like it . I have not had any complaints . It’s not a ceramic film, or nano film, but I like it .

A soak shield rope has become my new favorite. Prep is most important. After you clean run your hand over the entire windshield while wet looking for sticker, tape, glue, spray whatever remains on the window. Remove the mirror if you can and any other obstacle..A pillars are sometimes a must like on Audi A4. All this has been said before..just practice and take your time and it will work out for you.

I just spent the last week fighting with Ford Transit front roll up doors. Not the smaller Transit Connect but the full size Transit vans like U-Haul has for rent.

Can't bottom load them because its all part of the same seal/sweep.

    Hole. Lee. Hell.

Pain in the rear but after 6 vans I got a little quicker.

@jh812 is right though, the body style Jetta before the new ones (13-18 maybe?) has some deep sides.

Smaller ones without mirror obstructions I roll it out like on a BG, letting the top hang and then slide down. The big ones and ones with mirror in the way Ive been rolling out on the dash first.  Just hate how 90% of the ones i do are on a Truck or SUV!

Also make sure to wipe down the rear view mirror and all around where it attaches to the glass. I normally spray there area down really well before my final cleaning of the windshield.

Reverse roll everything here. With no to little contamination every time.... sounds crazy but after you shrink and prep inside. We use dollar tree windshield squeegees to wipe the liner off. Spray the liner side. Pick the corner. Spray as your peeling he liner half way. Spray film. Use one hands to wipe the liner back onto the film from middle outward.  Repeat on the opposite side BUT DONT PULL THE LINER ALL THE WAY TO THE OTHER STOPPING POINT. Leave about 1” spray and wipe from that line outward.  Spray outside of the entire liner. Roll it up doesn’t matter if it is pencil tight or broom handle loose honestly. Leave a few inches u rolled and the liner will be a hair long than that.  Pull liner back. Rack down a few inches of film.  Unroll while sliding your other hand along to lay it down as you go. Squeegee and done.

I like to wet the window generously but I wouldn't say super soaking. I spray a lot more on my pattern. At the same time you want to make sure you have enough slip on the windshield. I hate when it sticks because it leaves more potential for flaws. I also always use foam cleaner around the edges on top and by the pillars and swipe with a paper towel just like @Blackwolftinting and not hit the headliner on final squeegee or spray slip up there. I've learned to do about 1-2 additional flush and downward passes with my yellow turbo on the sides to get rid of contamination on the sides.

Another thing I like to do is a partial peel prior to me bringing the roll into the car. How much of the partial peel I do kinda depends on the windshield. Sometimes I peel 1/4 and sometimes half the roll. I think it depends on access.

Last thing is sometimes I tape the headliner if I think theres a chance the film might touch it. Usually only the first half of the windshield. I sometimes do this on the back glass as well.

Just my 2 cents. Hope it helps

Yes sir, i typically reverse roll all my windshields. Also use the soak shield rope and dash towel to minimize the water going behind the dash!

Here’s how I do a reverse roll on a back glass. Once you’re done shrinking clean the back glass with the pattern on it. Now spray the pattern. This will kill the static. Peel on side and make sure the liner doesn’t fall back on the pattern. This is why cleaning is super important prior to peeling because it can happen. Spray the pattern and repeat on the other side. Now just roll it up and it doesn’t need to be too tight of a roll. Once inside pull your pattern down like 12” then flip the liner over and begin sliding your pattern in place. Unroll it over the backglass. Once you’re near the end peel the liner off completely. This works the same for the front windshield.

You can but it's going to leave an air line across it and doesn't look great. I always try and talk customers into pulling it and then going back after the full shield is done.

I finally got some Rapid Remover the other day and following the directions it actually worked as advertised! I literally wiped the glue off with a paper towel.

practice bro, I never reverse rolled till recently. Start with easier windows you normally wouldn’t RR, till you get more comfortable.

Did my first Model 3 last week, we did the the whole thing including windshield in ceramic and also did the entire front end in PPF. Customer is loving it and i actually enjoyed working on this car. My helper did crunch a cut out while i was shrinking he opened a door on the other side and those shoot down quite a bit so had to re cut that door but it was hella funny seeing his reaction. Love this forum thanks for everyone's input .

quality tintz reacted to tools in will this dry out..rwar glass line bubble
installed sunday...worked on bubbles last night..so 3 days later.

on sunday when i first worked on the bubbles they kept rebubbling...(slip was getting sucked back in)= push bubble out the side..original bubble would resurface.

last night started with chizler..but then just used my finger and 75% just pushed down and gone...remaining 20% pushed into defroster line..5% (start of the bubble line no longer white color but would not push down =adhesive dried out...looks like some bits of dust etc...really not noticeable .

the other smaller bubble majority just pushed down with my finger ..little leftover bubble pushed to defroster line...5% leftover is again not noticeable.

also pleased with the .5" finger at  the bottom that wouldnt lay down post install..last night carded it down finally with yellow bigfoot...at least 5 mins later it was still down..ill check it again this week.

seems like the easy cure for the original bubbles was to let the BG dry out for a few days and them down.
