I nearly mowed a pedestrian down wearing a black shirt on an unlit street. Oh yeah it was the window tint that did it.

That's like just last week two bodybuilders died. Of course it was the steroids, nevermind the insulin and oxycotin they were taking.

I did a search on "mobile garage" and saw a few nice tents for around 100 or less. I was thinking of the mobile thing at one time, bunch of ideas popped in my head, like i only need enough tent for the window i'm working on so maybe a small setup or 2, i also had a trailer i could fit a car on and pondered building onto the trailer a camper like thing that pops out on the sides so i can bring my garage with me. I also looked around for public covered garages in key areas that i could use. Like if they didn't have a garage i could tell them to meet me at a cool covered parking garage. I have a few friends with car shops, some will let me use an empty bay for $20 a tint job. I now have a physical shop and even in the enclosed shop i have dust issues. All i can say is work fast af lol.
On amazon i found a $300 generator that is good for 3500watts (4000 peak) (Champion, i also use it to power my house during outages). If it's just your heat gun you could get away with a 2000 watt, or you can use a torch for shrinking. just shooting out ideas. Let me know if you can make it work, i have a spare pickup i'd like to make the Tintmobile.

    top edge debris.
after you clean the door,  kawos/perfect cloth the top edge to remove dirt.  laminate windows you might have to spray the channel out.   top back corner and front rinse well.  can not wipe to the edge.  top window gasket wet from outside and mist around window and around where you peel.   static electricity pulls dirt in when you peel and the vacuum created peeling draws debris.  I peel off the car and mist all around my patterns before pulling release sheet including under side view mirrors..  as you put the film on the window,  loose dust on frame or gaskets can fall in from the top and sides if not wet.

years ago i used peel boards,  saw a tinter peel off the side of a caravan completely covered in mud.  I asked how he could tint clean on such a dirty vehicle.  he replied "keep everything wet and no water running in".   so i threw out my mobile peelboards and never looked back.

Also, before even cleaning the window, put the window all the way down and wet and clean out the channel that the window runs in with a hard card wrapped in a micro fiber cloth....both sides and the top.

One thing I have noticed with a few of my guys in the past, they would not clean the top of the door frame. When you are working on the door it is being bumped and moving. Dust can fall down from the frame. I always clean all around the frame above the window to help with this. I have thought about a paint suit when installing PPF. Wouldn't hurt.

If you had enough alky you wont see the specs or care about them lol

After clean/prepping a dirty dusty car maybe wash your hands up good before peeling and installing and wipe the tip edge of glass with a clean towel

I would think that if they don't have garage or building you could do it in, or electricity for your heat gun then it would be way to much of a pain in the ass to try and go that route. Plus think of how many times your customer is going to tell you "Oh yeah I've got a garage with plenty of room, no problem!" and you show up and you can't even move around the car because of all the junk. or other issues too.

I use to work at a towing service where alot of these things came into playing getting a customers car and trust me, it is never what they say its going to be. Not trying to be discouraging just my opinion.

I always clean my shop with water hose and scrub brush on regular basis floors, walls, garage door, everything. And if anything the one thing I do outside the box is keep a lint roller handy and that's only to keep dog hair or anything else off of my shirt I always end up with clean results doing this

😂 put the 🍺 Down. I think you might of had one to many. It's good thinking outside of the box though. Try controlling your environment instead. Like reducing clutter or area where dust can collect. Having clean floors and using a leaf blower will greatly reduce contamination. If you're really worried about lint then try wearing a nylon type jacket or pull-over.

(12 bar).  known times I screw up.  the after lunch food coma,  always hard to get your groove back.  year ago a cruz screwed up three times on BG,   was over a hundred in shop,  didnt know i was disoriented from dehydration.   took a break, water and power aid, cut, shrunk and hung under 10min.   lets not forget the polyTcar. (polyester to car) curse.    oh, that one will be easy.  almost done  cakewalk car.  say any phrases like that and plan on working overtime pulling hair

Ya it's wild sometimes.. I swear some are just cursed. Do a window 3 times and it's finally perfect.. Nope! Fruit fly in it.. So go over to the machine and hey! the plotter decides "I'ma eat this one". All I can think is.. You SOB! you cut perfect all day and this one. This is the one you decide to eat.

quality tintz reacted to shadytints in Razor blade or scrubby pad or both?
the trick to cleaning with blades is to listen and feel.  keep glass wet and feel the imperfections as the blade slides across and listen for the "ting ting"  of pits, scratches or sputter.  low angle and light pressure like  fishing and feeling a nibble.  no blades on BG!  now that I use stainless blades,  they don't rust, last for months and cut myself and pouch less.
if the BG  is in good shape, white scrubby, squeegee and hang.  dirty BG,  stronger cleaner double rinse.  oxidized or corroded lines, steel wool, double rinse and maybe pro-bond for lines and frit.
work smarter, not harder.  1 min to look at the window before you wet it or cover in film may save you an hour redoing it later because you missed something.

inspect cars inside and outside when finished.   I use a 250 lumen spot to check inside for puddles or imperfections and again outside.  mini-torch for parking lot touch-ups.     If a custy see's just one spot,  the will be face F&%$ing the whole car for an hour.   and of course that will be when your busy and have no time.

I remember an old honda I think in the early 90's.  old tight rubber seals pissing me off.   added more slip to get in and then the film would shift rolling it up.  no clue how many times i redid the door.

You win!  or you learn,  yes the learning can get expensive.

extra slip is good for tight deep gaskets and getting the shaved look without shaving.   pro-handle to get all possible slip out, then a little heat to seal the upper edge and lock it in place before rolling it up.  I seal the perimeter when finished in case a rocket scientist rolls it down 5 min after I tint it.  I cant tell you how many times a custy came to pick up car and rolled the windows down to look before coming in to pay.
