I agree with Tint Slayer and quality tintz if it makes you more money do it...It feels harder because you become a salesman and a installer. You might be just use to be in the shop just installing...As for changing change what you think you work is worth that just my opinion.

If your boss is allowing it - then I don't see anything wrong with doing it per se.... there are still complications that could result, but if he's ok with it - fine. Just be smart about it.

its fine doing it, just make sure the installs are really good, that way your customer doesn't contact your boss.

I always felt slightly insulted when people asked me to 'hook them up', as if I was asking too much for my work. Plus if I'm working for someone, I want them to be successful and my success will follow. Not be looking for any opportunity to take from my boss or do work that would otherwise go through the store.

  I'm all about sidework, I'm gonna be a little cheaper than my shop in order to get the normal cars from people who can't afford us though.

I would not do it for any cheaper if I were you. It's annoying for one and 2 it's kinda disrespectful imo.

 

i used to help at my fathers wrecker service and people all the time thought if they called me instead of him they were gonna get their car towed across town for $20. I always told them to call the office and they'd get taken care of.

I'm charging more than most shops around me I think   Just less than my employer. I'm not even doing it in the same county.

Well the 2 guys that taught me to tint...always told me to buy good tools and always buy good film...cheap stuff always cost twice as much in the long run...and thanks for all the responses..
