Wiping squeegee after each stroke

Recommended Posts

Quick question, do you guys tend to wipe off the squeegee after each stroke or after the first stroke, do the next stroke without wiping and so forth. It’s faster without wiping but worried about decreasing cleanliness. Thanks guys

I used to wipe 100% of the time. Maybe now 50% of them time and I don't notice any difference. Usually I tend to wipe more if the car is dirtier/older, of if I feel that I may have picked up some trash during a particular squeegee stroke.

Yes. Every time my squeegee comes off the glass or a piece of film I wipe it. Spending the extra 45-60 seconds(total per job) prevents 5-10 minutes of having to redo a window. You’re not racing a clock, you’re trying to give your customers a professional installation.

Another big helping factor is squeegeeing the window twice. That makes a big difference.

How much pressure do you use ? Do you use it on the last strokes to finalize everything and ultimately are you trying to push all the water out the sides or bottom or top or everywhere. I’m super new to this game and I really just want to understand the ins and outs in a personalized way. I just want to offer the best service.
