TNTLady reacted to DynamicATL in What's Your Most Hated Thing To Tint?
I think the amount of time it takes to do it versus the amount we charge makes it not worth doing. We would just prefer to tint the whole windshield than just a strip. I am partially biased since I think sunstrips are stupid looking unless they come from the factory. I cringe anytime I see them on a nicer vehicle...just looks cheap to me.

TNTLady reacted to TintDude in TintDude.com Does Not...
Lately a couple of people have suggested taking the forum to the Goliath of Facebook. I suppose they prefer the ease and that there are many people on it.
I think these people deserve a thoughtful response from me why we will never be on Facebook and why TintDude.com is different.
The easiest way to do this is to say what we are not, so I titled the post: TintDude.com Does Not...
TintDude.com does not have a team of psychologists making their product as addictive as possible.
TintDude.com does not add members to the forum, every member here signed up. Unlike the groups that can be created in a day where the admin 'adds' members that they have info about to make it look like hundreds of people signed up.
TintDude.com does not track you around the web and keep track of all the websites you visit.
TintDude.com does not make you wait 2 weeks to delete your account.
TintDude.com does not create a psychological profile of you that it can share with 3rd parties.
TintDude.com does not sell your information to, or share your information with 3rd parties or device makers.
TintDude.com does not require in its terms of service that if you use the mobile app that we have full access to any and all banking information done on that phone.
TintDude.com does not build shadow profiles of non-members.
TintDude.com does not work with payment sites to know what products you buy online.
TintDude.com does not care about your race, gender or politics.
TintDude.com does not perform psychologic experiments on its members.
Facebook does.
I hope everyone appreciates the difference and what we are trying to do here. Thanks for your time.

TNTLady reacted to Tinted in How much dust under tint is acceptable?
@Roach @DynamicATL
Thanks for the perspective and replies. It never crossed my mind that they may be commission based. They determined it wasn’t on the tint but on the window. Because of the previous picture I had with bubbles where they said they’d re-tint it (no scratches present) they determined it was scratched while removing the tint.
They are ordering a new rear window for me. I hope it gets installed and tinted without any more hiccups. If anyone is interested, I will update this thread when I have a final outcome.

The scratch looks to be either on the film itself or on the inside of the glass. I am going to guess it is on the film itself because if that scratched continued into the defroster lines inside the glass, there is a good chance the defroster line would be missing some of the orange stripes. See if you can run your fingernail across the film and feel the scratch. Either way, it would need to be redone or just removed/refunded if that is an option.

Did this Tesla 3 in CTX 35 with an Air 80 on the windshield. Nope! I did NOT do the back glass as the customer didnt want it tinted more than it was. Front windshield was not fun.

TNTLady reacted to DynamicATL in Why do the Llumar tint shops take risk with darker film? Is Llumar slightly lighter?
Llumar films are always lighter out of the box than the shade listed. For example, 35 out of the box will be closer to 39 for Llumar films. We also carry 3M which tends to hit dead on the shade listed on the box. 3M CS 20 can easily hit 13 once applied on the glass...Crystalline roughly the same. So we always have to take that into consideration when selling the films. 35% is our legal option (GA can hit as low as 29 to be legal), but I have seen 3M CS 35 hit as low as 28 on certain vehicles.
