I’ll add that shrinking is what causes the peanuts in the first place. On those type rear windows that I know has a chance of peanuts, I pull my heat gun back about 6 to 8 inches further away from the film than I normally would on other rears. This method may take you a few minutes longer to shrink but the end result will be a peanuts free rear screen. I made a video on this on a charger, let me see if I can dig it up and I’ll post it

Wait a while before messing with them to let them tack up a bit, then push the air straight up or down to the defogger line. Sometimes the air will be a little trapped and if that's the case, I'd make a small pierce at the line to give the air somewhere to go.
It's a pain in the ass to do though, especially when they are all over the window.

Congrats Roach! I'm just done with the repeatitve questions being asked, and the so called "tips" videos. Half of the crap posted in those groups are posted to get their egos stroked, or to sell their basic ass product. I like conversating with other pros, but I'm not about to kiss anyone ass or lie about the product they sale because we're friends. If your video is counterproductive or your product is just mediocre I'll say so, I can care less on how many people use or buy it. I've seen more post on that damn soakrope, dirty pouch and bottom loading tool than I care for. I'll try it once but if it's not worth buying or pushing I'll let you know, I'm not one of those to lie to you because everyone likes you. Just venting that's all, lol

Its not about selling this product to future clients. You have to see the bigger picture.
This vehicle has alot of local hype around it between big shots. There is film crew recording entire process and difficulties which will be showcased at the auto show with an unveiling. There are several big sponsors in on this which open doors for me to take over several markets.
Profits wise, i havent lost anything really. Remember i am not on this car constantly. I just finished an S63 AMG full vehicle and Viper full front and VW Golf full front and i have to take 2 days off this week to do brand new Corvette full front and extra pieces. Some clients have seen the vehicle when they were at the shop and were so impressed they have booked in (another GT3RS / Maserati Ghibli.....) and 1 client has a 27 car collection who wants to start rotating vehicles in to get full wraps on them. I have to actually hire help soon because of this. Imagine the exposure and autoshow would give? May need a team of installers for next year. My focus is mainly high end clientele.
Maximum profits will always be doing partial hood and fenders for dealers. Quick fast cash but you compete vs installers who charge peanuts and just slap it on not knowing what they are doing. I've seen cars with overlapping crumbled lines on trunk edges (no trimming done anywhere)
Also its winter time, majority of people are getting a few partial hood/fenders a week (some weeks 0 calls for some places). Slow season for us up north here.
Also: I have no deadline to complete this. Imagine once i am done, (this is how extreme the client has gone) he will get the car flat bedded to Porsche, for them to remove vents in the fenders (they are structual (bonded to the fenders not screwed on) and hold the fenders together from what Porsche said) they have to remove fenders off the car, cut off the vents, put fenders on the car, have me wrap the fenders and tuck the film, then they will remove fenders again, install carbon fiber vents with the $600 Porsche bonding paste lol and install fenders again.

Tintmaster08 got a reaction from quality tintz in How long does it take to learn bottom loading from top loading???
Getting the film in without creasing it was the learning curve on bottom loading for me. I'd say learning to get the seals in and out without damaging the film or the car would be another. I know tinters that shake in their boots when asked about taking cars apart because they don't want to break anything. I used the 2 step method from day one up to about 3 years ago, now I pull seals on pretty much everything I can.

What's up folks! Been busy laying some graphics at Google, finished it up on Saturday. I have pics but I got to wait to make sure everything is ok to share. Layed down some pretty awesome designs, one is a picture of rain outside the cockpit of a plane, and that hallway has the entire interior of a 747 as if you were actually walking on the plane. It's pretty cool

What a b**ch lol hood is actually 55.5" x 57" film is only 54" and i had to roll it over. Very stiff but went on.
I tested a few small sample piece prior to install:
Dry application - came out like crap (crease lines and bubbles.)
Wet application with only slip solution and plastic card with teflon - edges didnt get enough pressure created small bubbles.
Wet application with soap + water on main area then alcohol with water on edge. Using a black squeegie. - Came out flawless.
Same application method as regular ppf, only issue is the biggest roll is 54". Imagine a Porsche Macan hood (would have to be 2 piece with a middle separation line, ugly asf)
Tomorrow wheels / vents / headlights / washers / fogs all come off the car.

Little girl just surprised us, she made this and at first I thought it was misspelled, then I realized she made a perfect mirror image of "i love you"...

Thank you Ric for the opportunity to share!
Its not my business. But I do take a certain level of pride in our work and our accomplishments having been here at Convenience 25 years today!
http://www.conveniencegroup.com/
Our team has put a lot of effort in getting all we can into the site so a potential client sees how we can help with many kinds of film related needs.
If you peruse the graphic galleries you may recognize some POTW winners. With the advent of digital cameras I tried to always take a photo of projects I was privileged to install. About 90% of the graphic work you see in the galleries I installed.
When I worked with others I would often take "action shots" some of which you can see in the virtual tour below.
See if you can find a TD Tee on my old office wall !
