It's really a pain in the ass, took two attempts. Was going to try and pull the deck but wasn't successful. You're really just moving water around and hoping for the best.

Yes you can, what size is it?

Yes they can be a pain in the ass.

Bastard just sits on my shelf. Wasted 25 dollars on that pos 😂

I'm hit or miss with it. Somedays I'm shrink no problem other days it's burn multiple pieces. I'll stick with the heat gun cause honestly in the overall what are you saving maybe 2 3 minutes tops? No thanks

The seals pull on the wranglers unless it's an older style. I bottom load all I can but top loaded for 10 years so I'm good at both. Prefer bottom though most of the time cleaner and quicker for me. I'm not arguing or saying I'm better than anyone, just my opinion on it.

thank you.. i have been wondering about the same thing for a while now... the reason for that is because my fingers and hands were getting black from the water which i pushed out. also, i noticed that the water bubbles underneath the tint were miscoloured and brownish if the soupy water was left there for longer time.. as if the tint colour started bleeding into the soapy water. the soapy water simply was not clear.. it was brownish.
i wonder if the type of liquid detergent soup reacted with the tint color. i wonder if i should have used baby shampoo as some sites recommend to avoid this.
as far as the other side, .. i did not use as much liquid and was working a bit faster since i was able to position the film where i wanted it quicker. i struggled with positioning on the driver side a bit so the water was left on for longer
Yeah there's your issue sounds like it's pushing the color right out which definitely shouldn't happen. That's wild though.

in other words, you are inclined to suggest the film itself was contaminated and i smeared it all over... amirite? i do have lots of the film left and was thinking i could experiment by applying it to other glass.
Looking at the pics it almost looks like you're pushing the color out which would be manufacture defect and not noticable until installation. Still odd one side did it and not the other. Cleaning with Windex didn't do that I don't care if you didn't do any other cleaning than Windex it still couldn't cause that imo

possibly... however, that theory falls apart considering these streaks do not appear on the passenger side given both sides were tinted from the same roll of tint
Possibly, if you have any of the film leftover you can look to see if it is on the film. Also film can change throughout the roll ie darkness, color, and imperfections.
Now these are less likely through big name manufactures because it's checked and to the best of my knowledge graded. The film that isn't up to par likely gets sold off as b grade and could possibly wind up in the hands of someone that sells it like you purchased. Just theory though.

Never seen that one before, I'm gonna go with you got what you paid for.

Can't go wrong with global. It's been around for years and I know several installers have used it in Florida with no issues.

Does anyone know if you can put darker tint off of brand new tint? I just got done with brand new tint and don’t want to have to redo it but I want it darker, the first layer adhered pretty well
It's not recommended and likely the installer will not warranty it if anything happens. However I do it on a pretty regular basis and haven't ever had an issue.

I know exactly who you're talking and they suck. Call express window films, it may be a little iffy since you've already bought global but there's always ways around things.

yes you can tint over the factor mirrored glass, BUT, Be aware that it will not remove the mirrored look.
All it will do is make the windows darker and harder to see thru but it will not remove the mirrored look.
Unless you do it on the outside 😂

I've tried several including this one until off brand j&j doesn't work anymore I ain't switching 😂 to hell wit all of em.

Maybe doing the windshield will make a difference, what do you have on yours? I was thinking air blue 80 due to the cost, the dealer wanted me to try C50, but I might get trouble with the cop. The C70 appears to have issues, I have another guy test LLumar CTX (different shades then mine) on his Prius Prime and below is his results :
Day 1:
outside temp: 91 F
Interior temp: 114 F (measured on the front cloth seat)
Day 2: (used sun shade for windshield as the only difference)
Outside Temp: 93 F
Interior temp: 111 F
Day 3: (used sunshade with front windows cracked)
Outside temp: 88 F
Interior temp: 98 F
Front windshield is tinted with the CTX at 80%.
Front windows are 50% CTX
Rear windows and hatch are 15% CTX.His installer recommend LLumar over HO.
You have to stop thinking of it keeping the car cooler when it sits outside all day. The only thing that will do that is a climate controlled garage.

Yeah I think I'll have to bring my other guy to help. Lol
I would've had someone heat the outside to try and get it to lay. If you're going to attempt the full glass I would at least cut out the hump for the display similar to a third brake light. I was having some fingers pop there as well might would've laid down but with everything else that was the least of my worries. If there's ever another one I'm just going to stop the film at the top of that on the outside.

I think we have that to look forward to soon. How was it?
Sides and back are a breeze. Im sure the full windshield is doable but it has a funky curve at the bottom making the film roll off the glass. I used a 60 and shrank side to side.

Possibly this but not 100% sure. I may have a sample book at the shop if so will post a pic of it later.
Required course for new installers?
