I appreciate it Sir .  And they do seem like they’re trying to meet me in the middle somewhere.  They said they would definitely make it right on the hair in the windshield brow.  And I understand it can’t be perfect.  I do feel like I want it to be darker anyway so maybe they can cut me a deal on retinting.  We’ll see what happens.  Thanks again.  A lot of info and knowledge here .

I let them know after day 1 and they said they'd look at it again after a week. Since I got them out myself really easily except this one, I was going to wait until the end of this week and stop by if it's still an issue. The risk/reward for a redo isn't there for me to be honest, but I know they'll try to touch it up if it's an issue.

I know they're called peanuts because I researched a lot before posting!

I like visor strips myself, I'd go 5% film down to the AS1 mark, usually about 5 inches from the top.

As far as the rest of the car, I'd keep it the legal limit or lighter, but that's just me.

This film takes longer to dry out. You have to push very hard. 2 months and still water. Most likely have to redo the job

Just about every brand will have offerings from "just put it on there" up to "I want the best". Something middle of the road, up to a little better than average is where most land at the end of the sale. Especially if you only keep it for a few years or don't spend much time behind the wheel.

Before you purchase go take a look at the jobs on the lot, check the reviews and ask yourself " is this a place that I would send my wife/daughter/grandmother alone?"
Not all shops or areas are created equal.

There are many different brands of window film available on the market, and the best choice for you will depend on your specific needs and preferences. It may also be helpful to consult with a local professional installer.

Take off the door panel and fix it. Local glass shop could help if you don't want to break something yourself getting it off of there.

Oh boy, RnR time this week for some local hotrodders. Dang car had so much compression the starter would barley turn it. I don't know what was under the hood but it was angry. Neighbors came by to see wth I was working on after hearing it.

My first plotter was a 24" roland. Ran it steady for about 10yrs even after I had upgraded to a 64". People would laugh at the jobs I managed to pull off that little machine. I was laughing as well, all the way to the bank. Glad to see someone with hustle getting theirs, play on Player and watch out for the fools drinking the hater-ade. Those loosers can stay thirsty.

This came off that machine in '04 when I first got it.

Here's where I was still using it as a mobile unit in a work trailer in '16.

Decided to give an update since so many don't, i purchased the 58" i believe and i've been using it everyday. No its not as good as your 10k ones but it does the job once you dial it in correctly! For the price I'd say its perfect for mobile or just starting out. Now i do plan on upgrading it eventually but until then its getting a lot of use out of my shop.I'm using FIlm-Cut! great software

I guess their not wrong about the markups. Sounds a little salty tho. Some folks will gladly pay the markup just to not deal with chasing down a tech and having a solid door to walk in if something heads south.

I know a guy doing some of the pdr claims on the east coast. He says if people remember that they bought coverage that it's not a terrible deal, especially if they wait till trade in time.

The writer should look at the markup on insulin or sunglasses if he really wants something to complain about.

I use llumar film-on and seldom do any cleaning of my bottles. I use RO filtered water and occasionally I'll rinse my bottles with some good old isopropyl 70%.

I use Hudson tec hand held compression sprayers that I've had for many years.

I generally use Seventh Generation Free and Clear during the cooler months because it doesn't have a bunch of unnecessary filler in it and doesn't dry out my skin. Probably 5ml per bottle, more or less depending on how it tacks.

Hot weather months I use baby shampoo because it has a higher wax content to slow down the tacking.

Also the pump up bottles are over rated. The geometry puts too much pressure on my hands if I use one all day. The el-cheapo zep bottles at HD are my favorite.

As @Tintguy1980 says rince em out if you're not using them everyday otherwise wax will settle and build up, getting stuck in the trigger especially. I'll keep mine flushed and filled back up with plain water, but I also run em out daily.

Proper way to clean any spray bottle used for installing window film is to dump unused at the end of each day, thoroughly rinse, and set upside down overnight to drain and dry.

Residuals of many soaps used by tinters can and will build up on the internal surface of these bottles and congeal over time only to release as tiny globules and show up under the film.

Someone can chime in and point you to slip agents best suited for installing film and lessen the production of these specks. Even so, it is still best to rinse each and every time you are finished for the day.

That they throw their tools away and never try to tint another car...ever.

That's a tough call. Def do not let them touch it again.

And it's unusual to pay for the film and installation separately unless you bought your own film, and that's never a good idea. Find a reputable shop and let them instal their film.

That huge scratch in pic #6 probably wasn't them. Everything else tho is pretty much FUBAR. All that rubber trim is jacked up and is not repairable as far as I know.
