Ive done this car twice now without covering anything in the trunk and has turned out fine. I’m using a spray bottle not a tank. This new model Accord does suck and the angle of the rear windshield is a lot steeper then the old one.

Something a bit different.  5% on the sides, 20% on the rear glass and 35% on the windshield.

    Design, cut, wrap and tint.
3m Gloss Liquid Copper over factory black paint. Global HP30 on the front.

Had to hold back on posting until today. It's being released and displayed at the GoPro Games this weekend.

    It goes on the inside.
The video is ironic because we work the film on the outside, then install it inside. Everyone sees us shaping the film on the outside and says, "I thought it went on the inside.".

    Thanks TintDude !
I see you've been in the business for quite some time!   I really appreciate you sharing the knowledge that only experience can give . I asked a couple  of local tint shops and they told me its not worth the trouble.
I'll give it a shot and see what happens  ... whats the worst that could happen... I have to replace a widow ?    Been there done that !

    Thanks Again !

It's not too tough especially if there are no defogger lines. Get some garbage bag plastic and cut it to the shape of the window, spray the window down with some soapy water and then cover the wet window with the plastic to keep the water from drying. Let this soak for a while and test removing some using a new single edge razor blade. If it has soaked long enough it should come off pretty easy, if not you make have to scrape a bit. Just keep it wet while you scrape. Use new blades to keep from scratching the glass and be careful.

Hey everyone, I've got roughly 52 PPF videos on YouTube that go over anything from, tools needed to install PPF, PPF install basics, tips, techniques, to installing on difficult vehicles.
Here is a link to my channel. I put out a new video every Sunday at the minimum.  Any feedback if always greatly appreciated as well.

Here is a YouTube video I made prepping edges and wrapping them. There is a lot more info in the video. Just skip the stuff you don't need help with. 👍

TintDude reacted to Bham in Would you please suggest an IR/Solar REFLECTIVE tint for my Mitsubishi Outlander panoramic roof?
The nonsense is that you are not looking at all the factors of the situation and just trying to eliminate part of the equation when the other part of the equation is still plausible and part of the problem.  You also are not understanding the fact that if you didn't have skin the type of film wouldn't matter.  The only way you know ceramic works is by feel and IR is what you feel the most of.  This simply explains why ceramic films work.   But you seem to know way more than someone in the business so best of luck to you and your expertise.

This kind of customer can be found the world over.
Often, we can sense trouble before it even really starts. I mean, how many times have you had an enquiry asking how much it costs to tint a small car?
This kind of question sets alarm bells ringing as I realize this isn't just a run of the mill Camry that they own, but more likely something much more sinister: usually an Audi, a BMW or you guessed it, a Volvo, and not just any old Volvo, an XC60! (Substitute any other Euro-trash that you wish - I'm sure you get the point)
I immediately ask if they know what type of car they have.
Silence often follows for a few seconds until they realize they've been sprung.
"Yes" they admit. "Why wouldn't I know?"
I then explain that in order for me to quote the job, I need to know what I'm dealing with, and that I'd hate to over price them with a figure that's usually reserved for European cars, which are more difficult to tint than the average home-grown varieties.
"I have an A6 Audi" they confess, and I realize my spidey senses are still working, despite my grey hair and bulging beer belly.
"Oh well then" I say "That's good to know. I'll make sure that it isn't just one of the juniors that works on your vehicle. The cost is $550" (Did I mention that I work alone?)
At this point, they either want to book the job in or decide to call around for other prices.
I'm happy either way, not just because I did or didn't get a job worth doing, but because I hadn't been tricked into booking "one of those jobs" for next to nothing.

Back in my install days in Florida I had a client stop payment of their check. When the bank informed me I put together a letter to the client stating that I would have him served and see him in court. I went on to say I would likely prevail because he never came back to complain and the fact that Florida has a law dating back to, I think, 1914 that covers defrauding an innkeeper, which his actions would be treated in a similar manner. He caved and brought in the money for the job but I would not accept it until it included the fee for having him served.

Few folks try anything to get a freebie.

Another regular accused my employee of scratching the hood of his car. Funny thing was I tinted the car, not the employee and I knew I didn't scratch the car. He wanted me to give him a free job in exchange. I said, NO! He left in a huff and before his wife left she said she saw a cat clawing at the windshield mister that morning.

When I left the manufacturing side of my career, I was asked if I would be starting a tint biz. 😂🤣 Oh HELL NO!

I got this tip along time ago here and I’m just passing it along. Get some remote wire like a 12-14 gauge spool on Amazon. Preferably black. Then shove that wire into the gasket with a bone tool. This will open it up and keep dust trapped behind it making install super easy. Leave the wire in there when done. If done correctly no one will ever see it except the guy that replaces broken glass.

I’ve heard this from you a very long time ago and just never felt the need as the prices went up so did most of the bad customers. I have my screening techniques down but this one slipped through the cracks. Trust me my techniques would have fished this one out except for the fact someone else booked the appointment for her. 🍻 brother.

During my time tinting I found customers were the worst part of the job. I went through every variation of the scenario you described, so each time I had a customer that didn't believe me about the drying time, or found some flaw that is more visible with tint etc, I realized they would not believe me if I explain this after the job is done because it sounds like bullsht excuses.
I realized I had to preempt the situation before the work even begins.

Thanks Tintdude this is something I finally feel is necessary to add to my business. On another I will just give a full refund to this customer and call it a day. The money will be well spent if I never have to see her again.
