These are samples of my hobby.
The custom shutters for the house were the simplest using PVC planks.
The dining table has interchangeable top; if we tire of the Barnwood look the trim can be removed and planks replaced with another type laminate flooring.
The deck swing bench has a recycled umbrella canvas for shade and the cup holders are recycled track-light fixture covers.😁

My understanding is that it has to do with non-disclosure agreements with the manufacturers. All the private label companies would probably love to tell you that their film is made by Garware or Eastman etc. but they can't, or they might not want to for other reasons. What if they're trying to build a premium brand and are trying to avoid being labeled as a reboxer? Or trying to avoid any preconceptions and prejudices for a certain manufacturer? Just as an example I've spoken with a longtime Llumar installer that thought Global was garbage because of it's price point and the fact that it's not Llumar, he never tried it but still had that opinion.  Sometimes the information does make it out the back door or is speculated about, but you're not likely ever going to see an official statement from either the manufacturer or the company marketing the private label film.

In some cases you might be getting the same formula. If you knew you could get your true Nutella formula out of a private label jar and save a buck or two in the process are you still going to pay more for the flagship label?

Take the point of a razor blade or razor knife and rub it in a small area at the top corner to see if the surface scratches.

My suspicion is there is a light tint on the windscreen that had a visor strip piggy-backed to it. When the strip was removed it may have taken the scratch coat off, which contained coloring (dyed or pigmented scratch coat).

Well, it's kind of like Kroger grocery stores don't want you to know who makes their Kroger brand Hazelnut Chocolate Spread. Nutella lovers would buy the store's (private label) brand before the Nutella because it's cheaper. Difference being Nutella brand is more manageable on a knife whereas, Kroger brand is more soupy.

Takeaway: What goes into the original branded goods isn't necessarily what goes into the making of a private label.

Just to expand further not all private label products are the same repackaged product, even if they are produced by the same manufacturer. To continue with your Kroger Hazelnut Chocolate spread analogy, the Kroger brand isn't necessarily the identical product as the Safeway, Wal-Mart, etc. even if they all come from the same place.

You realize that this is a window tinting forum right? You will likely have better luck with your question on a forum geared more towards outdoor power equipment or yard work/home improvement.
Maybe give one of these a shot:

For what it's worth I have a Poulan that works for smaller stuff but it's pretty finicky and in hindsight I wish I had spent more money for a better saw.

I would just shop around, to me brand doesn't matter as much as who is installing it.

My recommendations would be install nothing less than an 8 mil and, if conditions allow for it, include an attachment. Those should be bare minimums when "security" is a concern.

Also it may be worth inquiring from the companies what you should expect from the product. If your intention is having an impenetrable piece of glass you may have the bar set too high, for any film.

With a combination of shades I'd say the 40 would be good. Just that alone though imo no it doesn't reduce it a ton. You really need to be more in the 25% range to get a noticable reduction in glare if you have a good amount of sunlight coming in. Doesn't sound like that's an option for you however. Another option to look into would be solar screens that can be fastened to the exterior portion of your home. They will reduce heat and glare coming in without any risk to the existing window. Here's an example of one I built.
