Tint Slayer got a reaction from pbalentine in Roughest grit sandpaper on glass
flexible sandpaper wrapped around an old squeegee or wrapped around a hard card wrapped with a towel works decent

1500 and 2000 is what I use. Leaning more toward just using 2000 mostly. Used 1500 on an old Lexus last week and it was fine. What do guys think about those flexible blocks that come with the paper on them??

The roughest I've used is 1500 for defrost lines. I switched to 2k and have been fine with it. I've used 400 on dot matrix and that's it. Keep listening to idiots on FB and you'll be buying glass 😆

Tint Slayer got a reaction from jh812 in For those who use KEG sprayers
I'll give you an actual answer instead of trying to sell you something else, no that tank won't work, having a top like this is the easiest to work with and modify:

Tint Slayer reacted to pbalentine in 2018 4Runner BG shrink & panel removal
I thought I would share how to make this one easier.
Shrink/Wet Shrink:
Roll film out on BG, trim along bottom-edge, bump bottom down, mark sides, roll down, and trim top-edge. Then trim sides and round off corners. Dry shrink the bottom portion, pull film off, roll down glass and wet shrink the top portion.
Its important to anchor in the middle and to anchor where it creates more to shrink, not less to avoid fingers. I bottom load with hatch up. Reverse roll works good too.
Panel Removal:
This panel comes off fast. Pop the light covers and remove strap cover and remove 3 - 10mm bolts. Door panels are 3 bolts that are in same location on all doors.

Tint Slayer reacted to pbalentine in Wet sanding black borders
You wont see some or all if the line at first because water is floating there. As it drys, the matrix line will be visible. You dont need sand paper on that one. I only use 1500 and 2000 grit for extremely thick defroster lines.

Tint Slayer reacted to pbalentine in 2001 Yukon windshield issue
I did that once to make it easier install! It didnt help. I can shrink any bg and windshield, but install?? I cant install a windshield worth a shiat. I quit after every single one, but somehow try again. 😂

Learn to pull rubbers....till this day i dont know how to 2-step and as for marking the film use the metallic sharpie the silver or gold 2 pack they last awhile....use 1500 grit on matrix dots and sand down all of your tools with a 400 grit sandpaper no scratched tint...and also use a clay bar on back windows they clean better

Get a longer file for longer cuts and save time-

i use these for the ends that go into the rubber if needed, thin and flat and good for fine control with a slight flexibility to it, could probably us it for all filing-

Tint Slayer got a reaction from Bham in Rear window removal
Maybe someone over-used an adhesive promoter or their own glue cocktail to stick that on.
I use ATR to remove adhesive and it kicks ass, i don't know why everyone isn't using it.

Tint Slayer reacted to TomTint in Ceramic tint, waste of time?
There are 3 things Window Film is capable of doing with heat and light. Absorb it, Reflect it or Transmit it....nothing else.. if it's not shiny...it's absorbing the heat ( ceramic ) if it's absorbing it..it will re radiate it. ..( think about asphalt ) ..soaks up the suns radiation and re radiates it back.. Film is no different.

Tint Slayer reacted to LB55 in Who's using slip tape? Thought's?
I use slip tape on bulldozer and my hard card. I double layer the tape so it last longer. Currently with all the summer workload the tape last 1 week. I prep the tools with denatured alcohol prior to placing slip tape. Hope this helps
