The guy I tinted it for passed about 4,000 dollars worth of office windows work my way . So I said thank you by trying my best on that really difficult Porsche ! So he Derserved it ! I didn’t charge a lot !

This is the only one I’ve tinted ! After doing it once I won’t do another ! Too much torture ! Maybe that tint stretches further I don’t know ! I do know solargard ultra performance series film is a #@%$ to shape ! I mean wow It shapes-with lots and lots of difficulty ! Where as the normal tint no problem peice of cake on any normal car

I agree with super Dave on this one ! Windshield tinting is a whole new ballgame ! The tint is so thick , and much much more difficult to shape ! I shape windshield tint completely different from the way I shape tint for the rear window ! And there are some windshields you can’t tint with tint that thick ! The Porsche Panamera is a difficult one , and bmw mini ! The Nissan Rogue requires a 40 inch roll and is really difficult ! While most windshields can be done with a 36 inch roll ! And dealing with cleanliness and small creases , everything is more noticeable , every imperfection !

I know I realize it’s really easy ! But it’s hard to get someone to film you while your tinting ! I can’t exactly film myself while I’m tinting !

I’ve been a mobile window tinter for over 15 years, there are definitely some tricks to it that shops don’t know how to do ! I do tint in  the full sun sometimes , the one thing I won’t do without is a place to plug-in . Battery banks and converters never did the trick for me ! I’ve been working on a how to video I need to cut and edit ! 
 

Cleanliness just depends on the situation , if I’m on concrete and it’s not windy , I just work fast and it comes out clean ! If it’s windy sometimes I will take the pretective layer off inside the car ! I almost always take the protective layer off inside the car for the rear window , unless it’s a little hatchback window . Obviously if your on dirt it’s going to be a problem ! The video is almost ready . I will show a bunch of my tricks I just need to edit it down it’s really long right now ! 

I use solargard supreme series , and I have for the past 10 years and  it’s rarely ever gone bad ! I agree though sounds like galaxie is crap ! I dont like the color looks like it has a purple tinge of color to it ! That’s why I never carried it ! As for ultra performance I have 80% on my windshield and love it ! I’ve used lummar or as I like to call it lame rr !

I’ve used a generator before , a big gas powered one ! But then you have to have a big vehicle to haul it in ! On top of that it’s expensive ! So I prefer to offer to go to the clients home or work ! And if that does not work I offer for them to bring it to my home ! And I let them watch tv while I tint 

offering to tint their car for free would be a nice way to make peace ! I’ve tinted most of my neighbors cars and I give them a big discount and they love me ! I have customers come  to my house a couple times a month ! But not all neighbors are sane . 

I use blue max and ordered an orange crush and the clear ! And I’m not a big fan of them if there’s not enough water they can kind of streak the window ! Where as blue max does not

I’m working on a 7 series bmw and I step away to take a phone call and I come back and the customer is hot boxing it the back seat smoking weed ! Like really !!! I don’t need any , no thanks . The lead singer of mega death also offered me weed while I was tinting his car  ! I declined ! I’m good man ! 

I’ve seen this on a Mercedes . I was running a squeegee on the inside of the glass without the film on yet and the whole glass fall apart into a million little peices , but the funny part was the customer happened to be watching and knew from watching the glass was defective . So I didn’t have to say much he said he would take it to the dealer have them fix it so I could tint it. So really you may have had bad luck with the glass being defective , but also with the customer who wants you to replace it instead of the manufacturer who made the glass . 

I’ve found that the tint I use for windshields is thicker than for the sides. So it’s more of an art in shaping thicker tint . So what I’ve found is if you put the tint across the windshield , and you don’t trim the tint down at all and start shaping you will have better results than If you trim the tint down and then start shaping the tint .😉
