One of the benefits of Tesla is that most of them have been pre-sold so there is usually a wait for delivery which keeps a steady flow coming in versus all the other brands. If you can lock yourself into a good relationship at those Tesla locations, they will feed you some very good business. Plus most of the Tesla owners talk with each other so that will help with good word of mouth as well on the forums. They typically will do full front nose. Also on the Model X, offering the back of the seats is a huge up-sell. We learned that early on once they hit so we were quick to get that pattern drawn and uploaded.

In our situation, the Llumar training is a basic 3 day course.  Goes over the tools needed along with techniques on installing both plotter cut and bulk wrap.  You get plenty of practice and you get to decide where your focus needs to be.  It was worth it overall, but a very relaxed course kind of like your buddy is teaching you.  The XPEL course is 2 days and goes over advanced techniques and difficult installation.  Based on videos, it looks much more structured like an actual training class.  XPEL also offers a basic course which is a 4 day course.  To do their advanced class, you have to either take the basic course or have equal experience.

We look forward to your visit!

The advanced course is not firmly structured, as we get people with varying levels of skill.  We custom tailor the class to each of the trainees, rather than waste anyone's time with stuff they might already know.  Also, little to no time is spent on software and plotters in the advanced class (unless you ask specifically for it).

The basic class covers plotter/software/install in a very structured way.  For someone getting into the biz (Stewy), this is definitely the way to go. The classes are limited to 6 people, so you'll want to book well in advance.

I would say that the biggest downside is that 4 days is still not as much as you would like.  You'll be able to do good work, but you won't set any speed records right out of the gates.  We do try to send you back with a game plan to continue to grow your skills and attack the market in a smart way that doesn't get you in above your head.

Hi Stewy, we also offer a 3-day training school out of our Boston HQ. We cover the basic steps of installation, cutting with the plotter, and using our pattern program. We feel it is a very laid-back structure, where we adapt to the trainee's skill level and also their wishes. We evaluate after each day, and modify the difficulty of training accordingly.

If you would like further information, you can view it here - http://premiumshield.com/support/training/

Also, feel free to call me at the office if you wish to discuss in person.

Is it a trade secret who makes each brand? I'm looking to attend several different training programs.

@ Xpel Jeff, your training is on my list.  Just need to stop talking about it and get in touch with you.

Come on down Stan!!  We'd love to have you out, just shoot me an e-mail at jphillips@xpel.com.  We run classes every week, but they usually fill up 6-8 weeks in advance, so the clock is ticking on being able to do it before busy season is in full swing!
