Welcome back tint pioneer ! Also one of the original members here [emoji482]

That was me , I’ve been doing that for over 20 yrs, I posted it on here with picks about 13-15 yrs ago

I have to say I really liked the gasket wizard back 20 years ago because it did help with a lot of vehicles and then I barely use it over the last few years but it really comes in handy for this truck [emoji4]

Not to mention, nobody knows what the heck the ministry is or what a province is ,,,, ehh?
Haha, exactly ! How you been a Bham? [emoji482] -
No worries, I think I’m just in a very limited scenario for my province of what I’m looking for. The request wasn’t because of anyone being out of line, it was rather of it’s virtual irrelevance to the rest of the world of how Ontario is policed with Tint. No worries [emoji106]

If not at all then no point to having the waiver. If it is not illegal, but cops now have tint meters...too meter exactly what? Some info is missing cause not making sense. When I search for it there are laws in place since 2016...the way it is written is a little odd but info below.

What you read is not what it seems, it’s much more complicated in Ontario than that generic article.
The ministry deems pretty much any shade on the two front doors as unsafe, however the highway traffic act laws do not enforce that. They are on completely two different pages.
Unless you’re from Ontario Canada and have a tint shop here, it’s not even worth explaining. I’m going to ask Ric to just pull this thread altogether if possible .
I will just make up on I’m looking for or talk to another local shop .
Outside of a half hour discussion on the phone, it’s too much to type as to why it’s different here. -
Even in this situation, the waiver would prove you knew or felt it was unsafe when you installed it. Still could put a bullseye on you from the insurance company, etc.
Not at all . It’s different in Ontario Canada.
Too much to type and don’t want to go off topic of finding a waiver already done up . It’s all good , no worries [emoji4] -
Say Ric, If you happen to stumble across this thread, I did try the search but couldn’t find the waivers that used to be here, any chance you would know where they are or if they are still around?

I didn't mean for that to come out as negative. The subject has been covered several times and always seems to end up as an argument of exactly what I said that in court it just shows you knowingly installed illegal film so it's not going to help your case. Once again I apologise if that came off negative because it wasn't meant to be.
No worries. I’ve been a full-time Tint shop owner for over 30 some odd years now, I’m aware of the subject. In our area it’s actually not illegal, no tint is actually illegal. However with that being said if Tint was to ever cause an accident based on it being dark, that’s why I want the waiver. I use to be a moderator here many years ago so I know that it has actually been discussed in a pleasant manner and I was just trying to jar up some old memories if someone who shared it once before could share it again -
Wow. Had the vibe changed here from the old days ?
I’ll wait for a more positive response or perhaps repost in the area that I subscribe to help support the site after all these years [emoji53].
In our area ,tint is a vague law on the 2 fronts and a waiver is not uncommon. It’s not Illegal at any shade but not to be confused with unsafe and using one’s head. Anyways, I remember a few members years ago had a generic waiver made up and shared them here . Was wondering if there was one I could be directed to is all

Hello , I was wondering if anyone would be willing to send me a generic tint waiver form that they have a customer sign that wants to tint darker than suggested ? It’s never been an issues but with law enforcement now armed with Tint meters in our area now , I just want to cover my bases. Thanks for any help .[emoji4]

I built a small waiting room in my shop was a window that I can choose to keep open or closed so the customer can watch but they’re out of my way. It’s not realistic to send a customer away when they’re just getting a set of doors done compared to doing a whole vehicle

It was many years ago I made this and thought it was worth mentioning again to those tinters looking for a clean portable solution for tinting glass out of frame :
I also have a specially designed portable bench that works awesome for such cases.
Step 1: Suction cup with customized metal holder. I also welded some nuts to the back of the suction cup so the cup wouldn’t spin when I insert it into the metal holder I made :
2: Place bar in folding Fat Max bench:
3: finished portable product . Able to tint any auto window . Will hold without worry and solution runs down and away without “pooling” and no dust collecting.
Best thing I ever came up with 20 yrs ago for tinting glass out of frame- TintDude and highplains

I have a similar process as Shady but it like to cut a uniform perimeter around the inside which cuts out a lot of dirt and also allows you to cut the tint in such a way as to not have a light gap.
I’m comfortable with doing it as I’ve done hundreds back in the day but don’t do it if your not comfortable cutting straight, thin and even . -
I will offer both Suntek and Llumar in automotive with little cost difference between the 2 choices . I just charge the difference of cost on my end and all customers go for it when I tell them how long I’ve been offering Llumar for ( decades) . My other installer use to use Suntek and can’t believe the difference of how much more Suntek used to scratch compared to Llumar.
It’s a better choice in the long run between the 2 (in my opinion )just knowing the history and what I’ve personally seen and experienced between the 2 brands as a professional full time installer

Does anyone know how these things come out? The panels are easy enough however redesigned, the windows are all identical to the previous models 2014 and up however for the life of me I cannot figure out how the rear headrest come out. The centre head rest is no problem, but the left and right only one of the two buttons release from what I can tell
Figured it out. You pull out a piece on the one side , then depress the inside with a screwdriver -

Really want llumar but can’t become a dealer in my town

It’s Actually one of the things I like about being a Llumar dealer. I’ve been one of the longest running Llumar carriers in Canada and they are decent enough to only sell to me in my area and give me exclusivity based on volume and track record of no comebacks. From what I can tell, if they don’t see any benefit from putting a dealer against a dealer in the same area, they’re happy with whomever represents them in the area
