Those are two completely different things to train on.  Vinyl is a dry application and ppf is wet.  Xpel for ppf training and pick one of the hundred for vinyl

XPEL Jeff got a reaction from no ma'am in PPF INSTANT HEALING
While instant healing is impressive to watch, in terms of function, it doesn’t really make much of a difference if your film heals instantly or a couple minutes later on your drive home.  In both instances they are healed before you park your car in the garage.

the most important factor is the long term performance and durability.

I trust this vid is going to push sales of PPF  to be installed places other than some of you are used to.

    Cheers

Hey @TomTint, I respect and appreciate that you have an opinion, but man, time to move on I think.

Now people are leaving the forum because of this and that kind of defeats the purpose.

Plus this isn't the first scrap you've gotten into here lately.

I think you should take a break from here Tom. Thanks for understanding.

I’ve worked for XPEL for 15 years and can verify that this is a typical price from a well-experienced installer.

Absolutely.  There's an existing market for this.  We've actually got an antimicrobial film that we primarily use in this application being that it is usually near food prep areas.

☝️  Precisely why the scanners don't have much value...they can't.  The difficulty in creating good patterns isn't getting the parameters of the bumper as it sits on the car, it's knowing where the kit needs to stretch, rotate, seam, etc.

XPEL Jeff got a reaction from Film_Pro in Fender full wrap kit - does it wrap into the wheel well edges?
It depends on who you order the kit from.  If ordered by phone through customer service, we (XPEL) offer wrapped edges when requested.  I'm with the others on this though.  It's not a matter of spending time.  In fact, the longer you take on ppf, the worse in turns out, in many cases.

I once tried curing the ppf in direct sunlight, won't be doing it again, any fluid bubbles can boil and leave a mark. My advice would be to let it cure naturally in a warm environment.

I know folks doing ppf on hundreds of dealer cars per month in the new England area, so they must be dealing with different dealerships.  I respect your opinion and we'll have to agree to disagree.

XPEL Jeff got a reaction from JoshVette in Stek feedback anyone?
If I was a business owner, I'd test any and all films myself.  The problem with forums is that you don't know the conditions that were involved in any of the situations, the size of the sample set, or any agendas involved.

Give every film a fair shot, install them side by side all on your own car (and family/friends/neighbors)  and see how they hold up long term, before making a purchasing decision.  Your reputation and customers deserve a thorough review.

I'm not discounting any of the feedback shared on the forums, but if the success of my business hinged upon something (like the long-term expectations of a primary product offering), I'd want to have full confidence gained through adequate personal experience.

Edge Prep/Probond is a solvent. If you put it on a before install it is going to dissipate for lack of a better term. Use it right before you press the area down.  Just let it dry for a few sec and it will stick.
