pbalentine reacted to highplains in Contamination issue
Unless it's brand new off the lot the first thing I do on any vehicle, but trucks especially, is to dampen a microfiber towel with some rubbing alcohol/water solution (20%alc) or slip solution, roll the windows down and wipe the seals out. That makes a huge difference with cutting out contamination.

Is this just the 6” Unger? What about on windshields, green turbo?

I've never had luck with any Fusion squeegees, i wasted too much money trying them out and none of their squeegees were good for me, i don't get what's so great about them.
I've had good luck with the Green turbo for cleaning, and it's not the Fusion version of the green turbo.
If i'm not using the Green turbo i'll use the black Unger like you said.

It’s possible the board is dirty but I use distilled water. I keep my shop pretty clean though I feel like it’s something to do with the humidity causing squeegee to run right over trash.

Thats a bg arsenal right there! There should be a click to pay button to see it!!

pbalentine got a reaction from Tint Slayer in The Reach
Thats true if you it for some vehicles. I guess I feel the titan can do what the reach can. One tool I do like that I picked up recently is a blue and yellow quick foot. Great for tight bottom corners on bgs and I use it to shrink underneath spoilers.

pbalentine reacted to LB55 in Blue Max Squeegee Blade vs Orange Crush Squeegee Blade- why and why no
Orange crush is where it’s at!
Tried them all. The worse is redline

pbalentine reacted to TintWizard in The Reach
I don’t use it much but I wouldn’t say it’s useless . It works best if reversed for deep reach areas on certain cars. It’s not an everyday use tool

Bastard just sits on my shelf. Wasted 25 dollars on that pos 😂

pbalentine got a reaction from jh812 in The Reach
I knew this tool was useless, but just had to find out myself. Its hard to grip and I just dont see using it for anything. Obviously not designed by a tinter and is why its worthless.

pbalentine got a reaction from SolarScape in Suntek or solargard?
Suntek is garbage. Maybe go gets some garbage bags and throw some glue on.

pbalentine got a reaction from KonSiva in I've never seen film shrunk so fast!
Thats actually pretty slow for using a torch on a flat bg.

pbalentine got a reaction from Blackwolftinting in Slip tape ? Does it works? Where to buy that will ship to toronto ?
I sand down until it gets a deep scratch and toss it.

I will normally use some wet sand paper and sand a tool when I see any slight scratches. Once it’s past a certain point, I order a new one. I’ve never used any tape. And with the tools normally costing under $5, I don’t see a point in anything past sanding it a few times. But try amazon, they usually have everything.

pbalentine got a reaction from Tint Slayer in Is it time to move on?
All of us know how long it takes. At one point its obvious your’re cutting corners and quality suffers. I remove dealer work weekly and I can tell they dont press out any contamination dots to get it done quicker. Also see gaps so big thats it obviously theyre not heating the top edge before rolling the window up.

pbalentine reacted to Bham in Is it time to move on?
Efficiency is one thing, quality is another.
You say work more efficiently ?? I say worry more about quality and quit being greedy and have some respect for the industry and not just make money slinging piss poor work.
If you won’t accept an application from a quality tinter that can produce work without comebacks only to be looking for how many he can push out, it seems to me you are more worried about the wrong side of things.
A quality tinter who produces work that doesn’t come back, will be better than a 14 car a day inexperienced film slapper who only knows how to do one type of car. Probably can’t hand cut a sliding rear window to save his life.
