As you've just found buying off of film brand isn't always the best decision. Find an installer you know and trust and you'll be much happier than someone that just sells a brand.

It's not the same, but with him MIA these might be the next best thing...

Here’s the top edge of a rear back sliding glass. As stated above, absolutely no room to tuck or overlap the film. The small spot you may see in these pics looks like a boarder but it’s just a reflection off the plastic piece.

Yes that's normal as long as they are all consistent in size. Now anything the size of a nickel or better is not and needs to be further squeegee out. Also if you see any white in it from the outside then that's a little excessive as well. As long as you're doing two passes with a blue max and like dr said overlapping your passes then you should be fine.

I was thinking the same, too much slip solution getting on the dash.  If you guys didn't notice something looking like that prior to installation, then it is fair to say it happened because of the installation.

I hate to say it,, but it looks like the slip solution has caused the vinyl on the dash to shrink and release after it got wet and dried.

While I don't think it is totally your fault,, I do think you might have accelerated the *going bad process* that was already happening.

He went by Shady. He made pouches. I can’t remember where he was from, but I wish I had bought 4-5 pouches from him way back then. I can’t find anyone to make me another one(with his old one as reference/patterns). It’s legit the best pouch I’ve ever used. If anyone knows anything about him, please please please let me know.

offering to tint their car for free would be a nice way to make peace ! I’ve tinted most of my neighbors cars and I give them a big discount and they love me ! I have customers come  to my house a couple times a month ! But not all neighbors are sane .

Whatever you do, PLEASE don’t become the cheap guy when you start. It seems so common for every new shop entry to want to have the lowest price. Shop A will set a sign out front $120/car. Shop B down the road $109/car.  Shop A says nope, changes sign to $105/car. Shop B retaliates by changing sign to $99/car. It makes ZERO sense to race to the bottom. That does nothing but ruin your local market and steer the cheap people your way. And you don’t want ether of those. Good luck with everything!

you're probably right @Bham The ice packs I use are the hard plastic kind and I wash them before giving them the plunge, and have filter, but I can totally understand and see that any chance I can eliminate a possibility for contamination I should take it. thanks for the idea

I use the orange tint slime & also put ice packs in my 5 gallon tank. Ice would dilute my solution as it melted, ice packs were better option.

Last time I thought about quiting was in the first year of tinting, as much as I wanted to I couldn't. My girlfriend was pregnant and I had recently been fired by my uncle at his restaurant for being really late. The guy that took me under his wing to teach me had a business but decided to bail due to personal reasons and asked if I wanted to keep the business or he was going to ask for his deposit on the store. With a pregnant girlfriend and nowhere to go I said "fuck it". He taught me for about half a year, I was only pasting side windows and barely started to cut on cars and I had only done a back glass twice (G35 and Jetta). I would take like 4 hours on a car and I would fuck up many times but I always looked at ways to get better, I would always try new ways to improve my quality work (main reason how I found this forum, thank you everyone) I set a goal to what I wanted to be as a window tinter and I haven't looked back. 5 years later I can say IF I want I can do a regular car or crossover in about 45 minutes, the regular for me is 1 hour and 30 minutes. I can do about any car now and not worry about how I'm going to do it or any doubts, except really old purple removals. Just hang in there and always try to do a excellent job because your work speaks a lot about you. I'm happy to say that I still have many returning costumers from my first year of window tint.

I've been there several times. I can tell you if it's something you'll never go full time with it ain't worth it. Just get trained up in your stuff and work a little overtime. It's not worth it if you don't do it on the regular honestly. You'll never make the money you want and realize chit I can work 8 or 12 hours overtime and not have this headache. So I would do whatever on the side until I got trained. That being said I was in your shoes never imagined this but I'm full time now with a shop and potentially hiring an employee. So you have to decide what's right for you.

I think you would have better luck and less chance of contamination if you were to use ice packs on the outside some how.  Something you strap to the outside of the tank and hold the packs up against it.  Inside the tank seems like it could end up messing with or messing up your solution.    Just a thought
