  1. Just find a old DGi that they used to use with computer cut. It's like an old Chevy 350. Nothing fancy, its loud when it runs, has no bells and whistles, is an ugly cream color. You will have a hard time finding anyone that knows anything about them. :lolBut that's all ok, because they run forever without any issues.I use Rolland blade holders in mine and they work great. The parent company is Newstar Omega. So when you are looking up the driver that's what it's listed under. I would have to look but I am running under something else on my DAP software. It's a Korean company. They still sell them but I just think no one in the US is distributing them anymore. New they are not cheap, but you can find them second hand for a great price. You can get some parts and cut strips from knkusa.com.

We have some customers do it to us but doesn't really bother us cause we are very relaxed.  I usually start off with a "yes sir" or "yes ma'am" then quickly changes into "what's up man" or "alright man, be safe".  I would just repeat it back to them when they say it to you.  So if they say Hey Boss, you respond What Can I do for you Boss or Chief.  I agree with the wife, you're being a little bit tight assed if that bothers you.  :lol

    :lol GET OFF MY LAWN!:lol

  3. Looking for some feed back. I am 41 years old. Have owned my own shop for most my adult life. We have what I think is a nice retail shop. We have a good name in our area, work on a our share of higher end cars. For the longest time, and now seeming to become more prevalent in the last 5-8 years I am getting the " Hey Boss or Hey buddy" even a "big guy" now and then. We have a huge amount of younger guys(18-25yo) that do the summer sales stuff that are like this. Couple that with a very arrogant attitude. Mostly Vivint since it is headquartered in our area. I find it to be very patronizing. It drives me out of my mind. Probably more then it should. My wife thinks I am overreacting. Does this happen to you guys? Does it piss you off? I hold my tongue for customer service sake, but I become short with these customer. What say you?

Dropped Quickbooks couple of years ago and will never go back.  Besides using them for accounting, using them as a POS is very out-of-date.  We have been using Square since then and love the simplicity and flexibility.  We did the iPad thing originally with a few issues here and there all iPad related.  We now have the POS that Square built below.  They have the POS, gift cards, scheduling, invoicing, marketing, and even now have Payment Installments.  So people can pay over time while you get paid like normal...similar to Snap and others.  I would say 90% of our customers freak out over the customer display it comes with, they love it.  As far as searching receipts/etc, it is super easy by the name, phone number, email, or last 4 of the credit card.  Also, the reports are extremely detailed and can create custom ones.  Plus everything is on Square's cloud, no worrying about your local PC going back or hard drive.

Does it have a quick conversion to quick books for accounting? I have seen some other that do that.

  5. We have used always Quick Books at the shop. I have liked it because we are familiar with it, and our and most all accountants use it. But I have wanted to be able to have more ways to search history other then name. Being able to search by name or VIN would be nice for our dealer accounts. If it can be done in QB I don't know how. Is anyone using a different accounting software with a feature like this?

I am in Miami. This place is in Brickell and they do a ton of business. Executives coming thru there all day long to have their range rovers, porsches, mercedez, audi’s, and beamers, washed inside and out. I think they are reasonably priced because they do high volume and probably have aggressive wholesale pricing with 3M.

I guess its impossible for me to know what they actually put on my car but I will tell you that everything seemed legit and they had sponsored 3M stuff everywhere.

Oh, I'm not saying I doubt they are using Crystaline. Just goes to show the extreme price differences per reign.

Shop #5 (not sure if computer cut)

All 4 door windows, rear hatch and front windshield with Premium Tech performance film (claims its ceramic) - $220

Ya and i can also buy a 2000 watt amp for $89. :lol My buddy that owns a stereo shop just had a customer bring one in. Made me think of this.

  8. Often times we are quick to mention the negative and not often enough mention the positive. Just wanted to give a shot out to the guy that designed this bumper pattern. Not the easiest one to do. Has a lot of edges and different angles. The design was spot on.  @XPEL Jeff if you can relay it to the designer. Thanks for the attention put into this.

Just did an Infiniti Q60S that had scratches on both bumpers when it was bought along with the dealership scratching one of the door glasses.  The dealership ended up having to switch it out with another vehicle.  They said they "think" the scratches happened when they transferred the vehicle from another dealership.  I see it on 99% of the brand new vehicles we get in.

Good on them for switching it out for the customer. Our dealers around here would just have some crap touch up guy do it in the parking lot and call it good. I feel new car quality is going south quick. I see it in glass and paint the most , but that is what I stare at all day. I also am not say one way or the other that it didn't happen while getting tinted. But people don't look at cars the same way until after they have a service done. I point things out to people all the time that had no idea about it. But I bet they would have noticed it after we worked on it. This isn't so much directed at your situation, but something is defiantly going on with Tesla. I have work on many over they years  but the 2018's are not looking great. I have done 4 brand new Model X P100D's in the last couple weeks. Two Full body PPF wraps and two full front clips. All got front window tint. The paint has been horrible on all of them. Dirt nibs in the paint, even seeing wavyness in the body panels. We have a white one in the shop right now that looks like the mirrors have so little paint on them you can see the black showing through. The one we had last week had scratches all over the roof glass on the outside. The owner said he saw them when he got the car but it was to much of a hassle to deal with. Not to mention thing like having to close the hood a certain way or it will bend. Really!  Sorry that turned into a rant.

  10. The customers you will get with the low pricing are coming for the low price. They will refer friends for the low price. If and when you want to bump up to what you want/should be charging you are starting from the beginning, because all those old customers will leave for a low price someplace else. Also like everyone else above said, you will be working on some pos cars. You are spending a premium to carry 3m. Use  the name to your advantage.
