You can do some research on Suntek here on the site and get mixed opinions. From what I understand the Carbon series is about 4 years before a guaranteed failure. There are many other horror stories. I would look at Solar Fx as others have mentioned.. You can message @whitehog and he can take care of you for that. Another option is one of the sponsors, Express Window Films, which you can access by clicking on banner at the top of the page or in the window film section. Solar Fx is a great film from what I have seen and Express has a great variety and price point. Hope this helps.

quality tintz reacted to redneckj in Soap mixture question on last squeegee???
Yes,  you just need something slick on the tint surface to help the squeegee slide.   Your normal slip should be fine.  Use a blue max or the new red squeegee( I haven't tried it yet).

Those both look like good professional business boosters.

I thought about wording mine “stay away from the auto parts tint jobs!” Because I know a few guys around screwing people. Charging shop rates to tint someone’s car with Gila. Maybe they should do some research first I guess

I don't touch the tint. Use a technique that allows you to carry it to the window without touching the tint side.

One time I tinted a Jeep Renegade or as I liked to call it at the time the “ dog hair Jeep from hell”

and i misted the air, the cab of vehicle, and myself lightly and I could see dog hair floating in the air fall straight to the ground.

I do all of these things before I ever even peel my liner I know for fact it’s made my work cleaner with less F ups.

I think that is just beyond allowable. I would sue everyone. That sort of negligence is inept and inexcusable. I did notice that customer service is severely lacking. I had a rubber bumper break that is a carriage stop. Called for two days only to have them tell me they don't have replacements. Called Graphtec...same part on theirs and they don't stock it either. Told me to get online and try to find something "close" and it should work..WTF. Sorry you had that happen. If it was packed inadequately it is on Signwarehouse. It is also on Fedex for accepting it. I would keep calling until someone listens. That is terrible...so sorry you had that experience.

Go Nitrile. Latex /rubber allergies often exhibit as dry skin. The soaps we use also break down oils in your skin. Some adhesives in film and premask are rubber based.
My hands got almost as hard as fingernails. Fingers and Palms cracked and bled . That's TONS  of fun crab clawing your way through a day.

I started putting on the latex gloves doctors use , it works good , it keeps the skin follicles from getting on the tint in the 2 spots I touch the very tips of the top of the tint ! Now if I could only control the wind ! The reason why I started putting the latex on is to stop dry skin on my hands !

I use a bucket with clean water.  Sometimes I add a little soap.  I dip my hands in it before I touch the tint.  Works great.  Different techniques for different people.  Try it and see if it works for you.

Yep, blue is what i use to install.  I use it to clean bgs, since i push the solution to clean most of them and blue max is the only squeegee ive found that can be pushed without ruining the blade.

Ditching these for good. Main reason is theyre just too soft and float over contamination IMO. Also, since they unger channel blades doesnt flex it should never be used in auto.  Harder blades wont miss anything and since the tip doesnt flex it wont miss along edges like the unger.  Blu max for BGs and orange crush for rollups and 1/4s and thats it!

sometimes i do and sometimes i dont.  if shop doors are closed, i dont.  if doors are open, i do.  i prefer to do all my tinting with bay doors down but i seem to attract more walk ins when doors are up.
