So far so good- I've only removed 2 more B-glasses since the post
1 of them was a purple, bubbled up 2 piece. Both came off.  1 left a lot of glue but the tint off seems to break it down well so it was easy to get off. I'm gonna stick with it, Definitely worth a try

So a fellow tinter recommended this new thing called soak shield B/C I do a lot of windshields on high end cars. I got online and checked it out! It's basically high absorbing microfiber towels that have been made into different sized ropes.   You stuff them down the gap between the dash and glass to get all the water that you can't get to because it would be in the way of you laying the film
looks awesome- mine should be in tomorrow, I'll let u guys know the results of using soak shield as soon as I try it!

So that's a coincidence! I just did my first one today, the giulia .  It was very easy, but I did pull the seals out. There are Allen head screws behind each door handle, and a Phillips screw on the outside edge of the front doors only. Then u can pull top of panel back to get the seals out. They are different than most. They kind of come off with the top of panel and the u push them down to get them off the panel.  I tape felts a lot so I did on this one as well.  All in all it was pretty easy.

I do maybe 1 or 2 a month, everyone else down here seems scared. So I shrink everything wet.
Basically however you set up a 06-13 corvette will work pretty much the same, if you shrink those well you won't have any problems on the shrink. The trick is cutting it very short on the sides, I use the top of the dots as a guide ( looks like your gonna have a lot of daylight) it'll never fit if you cut it normal, also I usually have someone help beside the car once I carry it over and sit down with the film.  It sux if you have a slip up then because you've got quite a bit of time in it by that point! Good Luck

Super Dave reacted to smookee408@yahoo.com in More Slip when using Global?
For Global I use 10 drops of Joy Ultra in a 32oz spray bottle. P2P pump sprayer I use a 1sec squirt. Making the slip look light yellow color.  I use the two bottle method the P2P is for the back glass and also for the bottom half of roll downs when you need it extra slippery to tuck behind the seals.

If the temperature is 85 degrees and above go 12 drops and 1.5 second squirt. I gave up using baby shampoo along time ago. I got fed up with the constant lanolin build up in the bottles. With joy there’s no residue with regular use.

I've been using a black trash bag and 409 for years. But another tinter I met recently, brought me a gallon of that "Tint Off" stuff. So far I've done 4-5 with that and it's come off every time with very little or no glue. I haven't been using it long enough to say it's better, I could be on one of those lucky streaks where everything you touch comes out great. So far I like it though

Safest and least expensive thing is to say I am not responsible if them defrosters dont work after removing the film

I know... Just not the same though. Like when I pull up in my driveway and there is a song on the radio I like... I can go in and YouTube it but I'll listen in the car until it's over. Lol

Also, I've found that there are naturally talented people out there that will learn to tint well very quickly, some I've met had only a couple years experience. Others I've worked with have had decades experience, and I wouldn't let them near something I owned

Not Hard at all, just had customer ask me to do it a couple weeks ago, because he saw I had done it to the Ferrari that was in the shop- I told him that there was no need to. His door panels are just plastic the other panel was mostly suede
anyway, I had to do it to get him to let me work. So the 20 min set of doors turned into an hour of talking and prepping.

While Ive had some customers watch and say they can tell im doing a good job and appreciare it. I dont like people watching. Most get bored quicky and dont watch.  Just have to clean when they come around so they go away.  Ive made so many mistakes, all from people watching. Cutting myself, skipping steps, and even ruined film.  I hate it when they see me flusing the bottom of rollups. Yes, i have to create a water fall down your door panel to avoid a hundred tiny bubbles.

Oh hell no. They always wind up talking, so now half my brain has to listen and reply to you while the other half tries like hell not to burn this piece I just spent a bunch of time prepping. Oh, and don't mind if I take off your door panels do ya?

Hey, thanks for turning the ignition off for me while I tint this roll up, I had no idea I left it on. Oh, a bubble? Thanks for pointing that out to me. No, it goes on the inside.

I wouldn't recommend making it a selling point! I have to tint in front of customers quite a bit ( I do a lot of high end exotic cars ) it doesn't bother me much anymore, but I have been tinting for a very long time. I have found that a lot of customers have unrealistic expectations. When they are watching, I do a lot of unnecessary things such as having to tape up or cover panels, decks, etc.  Apparently, people don't understand that window tint requires water! All that time spent prepping the car is wasted, just to make them feel better. The water could have just been wiped upon completion. You will always be stuck with some customers insisting they watch you, but I'd think twice about telling everyone it's ok. All tinters have a bad tint day every once in a while, it's not fun at all when you have to do a window 2+ times to get it the way you want, while they are watching

I don't need or want an audience. Especially if I'm pulling or popping the top of a panel, the newer GMs let loose a hell of a snapping noise when you pop the top. Had a salesman present when I was popping one the other day and he about shit himself, can only imagine what a customer would be like when it sounds like you're breaking shit on their new $30k-$100k vehicle.

If you're really good you'll never be satisfied with your work, it's when you think you know it all is when you lose your edge. Just figure you'll always be learning.
