Super Dave got a reaction from TNTLady in Last one to post #885
@TNTLady
Did they trailer that hot rod in?
Had a custy last week, thought the boss was out joy riding in their Subaru! All the while, he’s tearing us a new one, while standing in between a pagani, and 570, and 2 lambo’s. I know I’d pick the Subaru for a joy ride out of those!

I cant speak for everyone, but mostly, it’s just the way I was trained. Back then- no internet, no sharing of ideas. I mean no one told anyone how to do anything if they didn’t directly benefit from it. Hell by the time “Tint Dude” came out, I’d been tinting close to a decade!

Super Dave got a reaction from highplains in Tinting over Rear Privacy Glass
Also, Keep in mind when your looking from the side it will always appear darker because your looking through 2 pieces of tinted glass. Looking from behind the truck, the other side is a giant clear windshield, letting light in behind the back glass. Hopefully, I explained that so it makes sense. Doesn’t have anything to do with the actual vlt measurements, just the appearance.

Super Dave reacted to Midtown Houston in Tint Slime Ratios?
This setup is not Afforable to any tinter or ppf installer unless you run a detailing department. There is another route call CR Spotless that will be the best for you. We pay Culligan monthly around $300 for this system....But it is worth over 10k if you were to buy it.

Im in Houston and we put 2oz of tint slime to every gallon when it is hot and 1oz when it is cooler (which is rare). We only use the orange tint slim....the green one do not work in hot climate. I have seen the slim do some funny stuff to the adhesive to some film but not with 3M....As for J&J, we use 3oz per gallon when it is hot and we only buy the original and not the off brand.....For some reason the off brand do not work the same as the branded one. We use to have to have to clean our spray nozzle all the time but never had to do it since we got RO water. Everything slide better with RO (10K - 15K system) water than distill. You are welcome to come get 5 gallon a time of RO water and see for yourself...bring breakfast taco by the way and it is free. You also welcome to come get a few oz of orange slim....

When I was hand cutting everything every day, I would do that a lot, the angle is everything. But, you can only do that on certain cars. There are plenty of models out there that will bite you in the a&$ for doing that. You’ve got to know which ones.

I’m in Houston, humidity is always a problem here. I tried the green tint slime for a while (per recommendation from mani). Never used the orange, though. Last I was using it, I was at 6-7 oz per gallon and still having trouble sliding the film. Oh, and we filter our water (not distilled) so if you forgot to empty a bottle or tank before you left that day, it smelled horrible the next day! I’ve read that it’s because of the waters minerals breaking the slime down, and if you use distilled that doesn’t happen. Idk for sure, just too much trouble for me, went back to my original (joy) slip. I also use baby shampoo for a few things I install.

When the Cops show up, just explain that your only repossessing the window tint! It is rightfully yours- he stole it from you!
Wouldn’t everything be so much easier if it worked that way.

I couldn't feel anything which was weird but turns out there was a layer covering the windshield that I had removed just now.
It's a 2013 Lexus G350 F-Sport - new to me as previous owner had maybe 15 or 20 all around which is far too dark for me so had it removed a couple weeks ago. The 4 windows and back seem pretty dark to me for stock (plus black interior) so for install just now went w/ 50 which is good for me and I've had before on another car.

Take the point of a razor blade or razor knife and rub it in a small area at the top corner to see if the surface scratches.
My suspicion is there is a light tint on the windscreen that had a visor strip piggy-backed to it. When the strip was removed it may have taken the scratch coat off, which contained coloring (dyed or pigmented scratch coat).
