Hey to all my name is deddi orpaz and I own an truk wrap business in Israel, In the last year I have been sending a skilled grup to US for truck wrap, (I am working as a subcontractor for an Israeli agent in L.A.) I found out that I can get into the americam market with a low price, if I do everything in Israel and send to US the material and the grup to make the instalation. In Israel we are working with ORACAL 3551 it's not easy to instalat but get a good work. Even if I will work with 3M 180 + cast lamination the price became to $7 per squer foot. I need only 4 trucks (500 foot each) to cover the trip expenses. I would like to know if I did a real calculetion and…

Good Morning! I was wondering... we have done several wraps this last month, it is really starting to come into this area, yippie! We were wondering though as more and more people look for qualified installers, how do we get our name out there? We have done wraps for local gov, fleet, trailers, vans, and working on an awesome wrap for our local DARE program. We know about Fellers certified, but does 3M have a certify class???? Any suggestions? We have been getting calls from companies over 200 miles away, so we are wondering how to get our name out there!!!

Hello everyone, I'm a newbie to PDR and would like to know your thoughts on how much 3-4 months of hands on training with an experienced PDR tech with 20+ years in PDR is worth? Also, what is a general % cut if he were to refer his overflow to me once I'm trained? Thanks in advance, Nick

Englishman in Australia
by Guest responsegraphics- 3 replies

I have a company here in Australia, all we do is vehicle wrapping. Its taken 3 years to get a good customer base. They were and still are painting graphics onto new vehicles here... The average cost of a wrap from us is $5500 AUSD which is about 2000 english squids. However we only use 3M Scotchprint. I was in the UK earlier this year, and tried to get some of this material from 3M, and they wanted 180 pounds per linear metre, I can ship this from Australia cheaper to the UK than you guys can buy it. You can offer a 7 year warranty on this also, there is no other material available that fit so easily and quickly. GO have a look at www .response-graphics.com, all the…

Today I got started on a huge job (for me) removing and replacing on a custom hauler trailer for Toyota and their tundra show truck. Got the old stuff off and put up the front and half of the first side today. I’m not going to count the back of the trailer that we had up but the customer didn’t like the background color. Said he could live with it and to leave it up but I removed it anyway after he left. It looks like the truck is rolling out the back of the trailer and the trailer had too much green in the background. I will reprint it tomorrow and go back Monday. Better a customer of this size really like the job and not just be able to live with part of it! I wi…

I need to know what I'm getting into. I have a chance to wrap an 07 Mercedes ML350 The thing is I've never done a wrap, my wife will most likely do the wrap with me, she does vinyl so it should be the same, right? I need to know what tools to use, can it be stretched, dry or wet, and what in the world does someone charge for an suv to be wrapped? Message me with a base price please because I just have no idea.

I'm looking for someone that will print up some vinyl and ship it out. I pretty much have all designs done. This would not be a full wrap, but rather larger pieces that combine with the paint job on the vehicle to produce the end result. Please let me know if you can provide this service.

My brother just got a new chevy 2500 workvan and is planning on getting it wrapped here locally, im wondering if we may be better off getting one of you guys that does this all the time to print it off and we install it ourselves? We want to install ourselves anyway but we just don't have the equipment to make a wrap. We are planning on a full color wrap, partial van or whole, not sure yet and putting a house on it and 3M logos and probably prestige logos. Any takers on someone wanting to print our ideas out and shipping to us or any ideas on what would be eye catching and different from most other vans that are just lettered up? PM me if intrested in printing out an…

Just got a ValueJet
by Guest tat2punk- 2 replies
- 1.6k views
First, does anyone have one of these? What would you recommend for doing vehicle wraps, Oracal or 3M? I have been playing with it for a few days and it seems that you have to laminate everything or it scratches real easily. Am I doing something wrong with the heat settings or is that just the way it is? I have tried heat settings on the highest setings and the lowest settings and I seem to get the same results. Any info from anyone would be greatly appreciated.
