Help: Best tools to remove large dent - Chevy S10 Fender
by Guest megadent- 3 replies
- 4.3k views
Hi there, My 98 Chevy S10 was recently backed into, and while I do not expect it to look anywhere NEAR perfect, I would like to remove as much of this dent as possible using PDR tools and methods. Below are a couple pictures, I would like to remove the main dent that you see. There's a nasty dent and some pretty bad rust issues around the wheel wells, I'll grind down the fender and repair it separately, so you can ignore that. http://img137.imageshack.us/I/picture079b.jpg/ http://img18.imageshack.us/I/picture076i.jpg/ I'm not sure what PDR tools might be best for this - if any, so I appreciate any input or advice. David

Hey guys, trying to move up, and get out of using the "works for all auto" invoices that you can get at office depot, and looking for one that is PDR/windshield repair only, do any of you guys have one in a format that would allow me to down load it and switch the names and logo out for my own? Thanks for all the help. Feel free to PM me if you would like. thanks again

Thinking if it's possible to get a wrap made for the tailgate of my truck and sent to me to install, or is it something that the vehicle has to be present to do? If it's possible to mail it, let's talk, I'd rather support a long time TintDude member than some schmuck I don't know.

My daugher wanted to buy a new bug shield for her Bronco since the one on there was all faded and oxidized looking......so I suggested a wrap.......here is how it came out. She designed it......she just turned 16 http://im1.shutterfly.com/media/47b9db09b3...3D550/ry%3D400/ http://im1.shutterfly.com/media/47b9db09b3...3D550/ry%3D400/ http://im1.shutterfly.com/media/47b9db09b3...3D550/ry%3D400/ http://im1.shutterfly.com/media/47b9db09b3...x%3D60/ry%3D60/ here is her Bronco.....1996.....one of the last five to ever come off the line. http://im1.shutterfly.com/media/47b9db29b3...3D550/ry%3D400/ http://im1.shutterfly.com/media/47b9db29b3...3D550/ry%3D400/

Update/Review on Daige Liquid Laminator
by Guest CrazyElvis- 5 replies
- 2.9k views
I have to give a 10 out of 10 on this laminator. Really easy to use and the laminate stayed on perfect when wrapping my boat windshield......which if VERY curvy......used the heat gun on both the boat windshield and when just wrapping my daughters bug shield on her Bronco. Also I had the question about wether I'd be able to print and contour cut.....then laminate.....and then be able to weed.......instead of printing them laminating and then sending it back in to contour cut. I tested it and was able to print then contour cut........put the prints thru the laminator ....wait for it to dry (about 30 minutes).....and then was able to weed with no problem. I didn't have to…

Heat Gun Setting
by Guest CrazyElvis- 3 replies
- 1.4k views
Ok.....got my 3M wrap material in and my first projects are going to be wrapping my boat windshield (2001 Triton TR21 Bass Boat) ......very curvy. Second project is to do wrap my daughters bug shield on her 96 Bronco. Figure I'll tackle that one first as its a little less complex than the boat windshield. I bought a digital heat gun at Lowes but I'm not sure what temp setting to put in on to heat the vinyl when going around curves or complex areas. I think it goes from 450 to 1350 degrees........I figure 1350 will melt it and I'm not sure if 450 is adequate. Thanks for any help!!!

Laminating / Weeding Question
by Guest CrazyElvis- 4 replies
- 1.4k views
I know this is probably a stupid question.....but say I'm running a job of 100 printed oval decals ....say 3" x 8" oval......contour cut around the oval. I then pull the print thru my new Daige Liquid Laminator......Once it dries I'm not going to be able to weed where the cuts are ....right?? ......because there is going to be a solid surface of laminate on the sheet...... which means I'm going to have to print....laminate....then send it back to contour cut?? or...... can I print, weed & then laminate?? ......but I'm guessing I'd have the same problem of there being a solid surface of lamiate covering the whole sheet. Thanks for any advice & help

New Here and a Few Questions
by Guest CrazyElvis- 7 replies
- 1.6k views
Man have I been looking for something like this site........been doing signs since 1995 but recently got bored with generic stuff and branching into new territory. I have done a few perforated window wraps and having fun with that. I my get into some wrapping on vehicles .....maybe. I only have a Roland VP 300 so I'm not in the leauge with the big boys with the big toys machine wise. One thing I want to do is start to wrap boat windshields......like on bass boats. They are pretty curvy to say the least...... What is a good material to print on and use for really curvy surfaces?? I've read on here the Oracal 3951. I like Oracal vinyls and when printing standard oval a…

Has anyone tried this PDR kit?
by Guest ericdude- 0 replies
- 3.3k views
LT820 PDR Kit The two rods are 5/8 and 1/2 which are at the upper end of the diameter range of the tools in the $1300 kits. The tips can be reoriented via some tightening screws and it includes a roller ball tip. Is this any good? I can't afford the $1300 kits. I do my own mechanical repairs so I figure I should be able to learn this (or at least try).

man I have been doing tint for a long time and doing pdr with tint was a great way to fill in the slow times on tint. I make a lot more on tint but if its slow I can always husel up some pdr work to fill in the gaps and pdr is not as hard as everyone makes it out to be.
