Hey everyone...I have been tinting for over ten years and most recently worked for one of the big tint manufacturers taking as a rep and doing some training. I have decided to get back out on my own and am thinking of doing some PDR as well. After visiting MANY tint shops in the past year as a rep I can count on one hand the number of GOOD tinters I met. I am guessing that PDR is like tint. Mainly self taught and takes tons of practice but I am up for it. Any suggestions on schools? Ideally I would like to spend a week with someone with experience and possibly exchange for tint training. Even after 10 years of tinitng I learned a lot of tricks over the past year o…

Hello fellow technician! I have been doing PDR for 4 years now and have 1 year left of a 5 yr contract. Not sure where to go from there. Stay with the Co. or go out on my own. Anyway, I wanted to see what other guys out there were getting from the companies they work for. Would also like some input from the guys who go at it alone. This is what I get from the company: small truck, tools, SEPT w/ 3% match, 2 weeks vac. (@ $200/day), $100 for health insurance (through the Company), 45% commission. I have to pay for my own gas. This has been a slow year for my area but I am still doing pretty well. Hope to hear back from some peps soon.. 6PK

I would like some of your opinions on pdr training. Before I found this site I was negotiating w/Paint Bull. It is alot of money but I like the package they offer. I have no experience in this area and from what I am reading of other posts, the tools aren't that great and the training is enough to make me dangerous. I want a well rounded business and thought it would be a good start but lay off performing pdr until I went to a junk yard or lil mom n pop car lot to practice before going into it. I'd like some opinions. thanks

Well I just got lucky with a professional PDR contact willing to provide some ?one on one? training with me. WOW What is the feeling across the board on what would be an adequate payment for this type of one on one? Trainer wants $ 300.00 per session 6-8 Hrs. each week, one day per wk. I?m interested in what the pros think on this. I think it?s a great opportunity but what?s the norm? ?If there is one?. Thanks for the input. JS

I found this site while researching PPF and have learned quite a bit the past few months. Nice to see a forum for PDR now. If you continue with the same standards as the other boards Im sure the PDR guys will find your site as helpful as I did for PPF. thanks TD

did my first over wraps job today on a ATV. thought it would be a 2-3 hour job, at most. well, it wasn't been working on the damn thing all day. started at 12:30, finished at 9:30. you guys think PPF is rough, this shiot is horrible. doesn't conform to a damn thing. anyway, I took some pics. here's before I even got started.
