3M Prestige films

The Presitge line is a little deceptive. The new TSER that they are using to get their better performing numbers are due to a system that is not recognized by the IWFA. If you use the system that is recognized by the IWFA (right angle) their numbers are not very good.

The number is used as a benchmark measurement. It is not intended to be compared to the suns angle. This is simply creative marketing.

Try using LLumar. We are a member of the IWFA.

Actually you should be more concerned with the NFRC since that is the orginization that gives the Energy Star Rating which is what the flat glass industry is trying to get recognized by.

It will get interesting once mfg's try to qualify their films for the Energy Star Rating which can get rebates for customers from the municipalities. All the marketing games will be over and only NFRC recognized standards will be used... :dunno

this thread is getting a bit out of hand..

[*]401670

Nope. Its a great discusion about some of the different films and there is a lot of information in this thread.

First of all, sorry you can't get the film, Dan. Is it volume or loyalty they demand?

The prestige film sounds like a decent film. To bad they lay the marketing on so thick.

VC's name is not Eric and he's not a distributor and is very wise in the ways of many films :dunno

And yes, the NFRC is going to be very importan in the near future. I know of a lot of flat glass installers the think the IWFA is for auto regulations only, but they, along with some of the manufactures are working hard on getting film recognozed. mmm might get the prestige approved for those near the equator, but not up here... :lol2

VC, You are very good. The NFRC is a major component and is very important. LLumar has received the Energy Star but is awaiting red tape to be certified to print the logo on our boxes and literature.
