Slick got a reaction from TintDude in Dealership Terms
All my dealers are net 30. I have that stated at be bottom of my invoice, right above where they sign the "Received by" line. Best to work with PO's for charge accounts. No PO, no getting the car back.

Slick got a reaction from flat rock stan in How did you get your start?
There was this dude building a "boat" with his family...talking about a lot of rain coming, collecting up all these animals. Anyway, he had openings in the top of the boat. I told him about this process I had come up with where I heat sand and turn it into a clear hard substance that would probably help to keep this rain that he was talking about, on the outside of the "boat". He said something about how that would probably intensify any sunshine that may occur during this period of rain and really heat up the inside of the "boat" So I started playing with this stuff called amber...found out if I put it on the glass, it actually cut down the heat of the sun. Showed it to him...and he said we could give it a try, but that he wasn't going to pay for something that was "experimental" but that he would give me a ride in his "boat"....and here I am now.
That's the short version...pm me and I will tell you about the smell in that "boat"....I've hated tinting boats ever since....

Slick got a reaction from Diablo's Tint in Thoughts on this, tint topic?
Who's gonna get someone in trouble? Unless someone on here either recorded Andy or IS Andy. And Andy chose to do the illegal film...so that's on him...

On top of the trash and the install methods everyone else commented on....I felt bad for poor Andy....that dude is either really nervous to be caught on film doing illegal installs, or he has a BAD case of the DT's...

Slick got a reaction from F1windowtinting in Yelp reviewer meets business owner.
Guess he's not that great of a lawyer if he can only afford $120 for a tint job. Yelp whiners wouldn't make one bit of difference in how I treat a customer. I would love to see the video.....just sayin...

Screw that. I would like to see everybody who does illegal tint get nailed. It's a black eye on our industry.

Slick got a reaction from TintDude in 2017 civic hatchback
Just finished my first one of these and figured I would stop in to give some advice, but I see somebody beat me to it. This is a miserable car to tint, and from today forward, the price will reflect that. Now that I have the pattern (yes I am a hand cutter...no computer cutting here) I think it may be a bit easier...but we will see....
Oh, and "HI!!" everybody!

Slick got a reaction from TintDude in Mk 5 golf rear window
where are you getting your creases? I am going to assume the top and bottom corners right? The Golf is not an easy car to start on...you may want to practice on some easier cars to start out with. Take your time heating...don't rush it. In fact, as you get close to the edge of where you want to be, move to another section of the window...give the tint in those corners a chance to cool a bit, then come back to it. Also, a huge help is...and this is kind of hard to explain but, make sure some air is getting under the tint while you are shrinking. Search for "Ryke shrink" i think? I don't do it the way he does it, but I do direct heat under the tint to keep it up off the glass...that way, I don't even have to use a hard card or anything to push the tint down...it just seems to fall onto the glass. Hard to explain...but check out Ryker's way of doing it. I am also assuming you are doing this shrink dry....
