I don't think that a removal and refund would be unreasonable to ask for, that's pretty bad.

Maybe this pic will help.  You gotta lay it out and shrink the top and bottom and stretch the curve.
If you've done a couple of attempts you should understand what I mean.
Trim it out 1/4" long all the way around.  Lay out the fingers and see which parts need to be stretched.  Shrink and trim everything but the upright section farthest away from the curve.  Trim the curve area to fit - and install from the curve over to straight/flat part.

Best way I can describe it is that it is like doing a Vette rear glass or an older Z28 or Firebird.  Stretch and shrink are both used almost in the same areas.

TNTLady reacted to Bham in First Cracked Window in over 25 years !!!
I gotta say that I don’t think that was your fault.  The origin of the crack seems to be beyond the frit, which leads me to believe there was damage elsewhere and that tinting just exposed the prior problem.

This is seems to have been done by installing interior trim that is against the glass.  Or by some foreign impact that was in the edge of the actual glass piece.

Much like moving a crack in the windshield with heat and an ice cube, this is the same aspect that exposed a flaw that you did not cause.  Window tint rarely causes automotive glass to break unless there was a prior problem.

    Just my two cents.

Another big helping factor is squeegeeing the window twice. That makes a big difference.

Wow this sounds like a train wreck

I used to travel all over Florida, stayed in one spot 3 to 4 months at a time and then on to the next location.  If you get something with a kitchenette it makes life much easier to save on eating, but the major problem is the dog.  Finding somewhere cheap enough to make this worth it that will accept a dog is going to be tough.  The ones that will accept animals for any length of time are more expensive, therefore blowing your budget. Even if they are paying for the hotel, what if they won't pay for one that will accept a dog.  Now you have to board it or cover the cost out of your pocket.

Are you paying for (providing) film ? or are they covering that ?
Working outside all the time ?  there's another issue.
I've done enough semi truck tinting to know that it's a lot bigger pain than it seems to be.
Compensation for milage should be in there somewhere.
Taking a job that will have you that far away from a newborn for that long (you can't finish it before the baby arrives),,,, are you ready for that ?
Is it really that much money in the end and going to be worth the headaches ?

Not sure of your current job situation, but if it's anywhere close to this amount of money in the end,,, I would pass on this and let someone better suited for it take the headaches.
Refer back to the first sentence.

This is just my two cents  and am only trying to give you some things to consider.

Good luck to you whatever you decide.

Manufacturers are desperately trying to encourage existing shop owners to hire and train... the stock pile of future film buyers ...is getting low. Add to that..some of the chain store tint shops are selling a pipe dream to unwitting buyers..only for them to find that once a new hire is trained..they can't keep them locked up in the back room for 8.50 P/H...hence the huge turn over rate.
I have said it numerous times before. Being a "tinter" is no different than being a house painter, plasterer, lawn mower, carpet installer, or any other un regulated trade where a legitimate license is not required. .. That also adds to the derelict problem in the labor force.
I don't have the actual numbers, although I'm sure corporates have run them...on how many "tinters" are actual businesses as apposed to hobbyists. If I were to guess.. it's 1 in 60.. maybe worse..

I’ll go out on a limb and say it was more likely a shotty job from the get go and your now just noticing a bad line up job of the tinter. If the other side even remotely resembles a similar gap. You’ve got your answer as it’s highly unlikely both windows started to shift at the exact time

Wow. I make it a point never to place anything (tools, boxes, etc.) on the paint except towels. I see guys place their spray bottles on top of cars paint all the time and it makes me cringe.

Age old problem that won't ever have a solution. As you know, window tinting is a trade, problem is that it is a trade that requires no significant license or oversight to get into. And a surplus of suppliers willing to whore out rolls of film to anyone with a credit card. Once anew hire figures out hitch side of the film sticks..they flee and open up their own "shop" ...been that way since before I started in this business ( 1985 ) ..and will be that way until I'm pushing up daisies

If you want one who is experienced, does good work, and dependable he already has a job. You have to train them to have them and even then..... Good luck with your search. If you find more than one send him south. LOL!!
