I use to hate the bulldozer but it’s one of my favorite tools for squeegee on BG anymore. Super quick.

They're a hell of a lot better than the suntek ones. I used to wear these all the time, but have switched over to a tray for my tools. Quick draw is my go to for that.

I dont use microfiber towel anymore. I only use them after tinting is all done. I use the absorber that walmart sells. That elimated all microfiber contamination. I do use a white scrubby to clean top edge and then wipe it with the absorber towel (careful not to push to hard, it will destroy the towel and leave residue). I tried eliminating the wipe down but that created contamination. Like JH said, i also just wipe the squeegee with my hand and that seems to work.

I used to wipe squeegee with paper towel between passes now I just use my hand and haven't noticed any different. I tried eliminating cleaning the top edge but seemed to lead to more contamination. If you did a video on your side window we might could help eliminate some stuff though.

I usually do most of those steps as well.

My process is put the window all the way down and clean side seals and top seal or tape if there is felt.
Then I do a cleaning pass with Dirt Off and a scrubby or razor then squeegee that down. That is when I wipe the top edge of the glass on roll down windows. I wipe my squeegee with my hand after each pass just to keep some of the mess off the door panel.
Then I do a full soak and wash down then squeegee using my slip solution. This time I just dab my squeegee on a towel. I seem to catch the corner of the squeegee when I do a wipe so I avoid that for fear of bringing up towel pieces or lint.
Unless the window seems super dirty (lots of dirt on the towel) then I won't do a second slip solution squeegee.
    After that I install.

I guess that is still two squeegee rounds, one during clean and one for prep.

I do all of the above and wouldn't take them out of the process.

I’ve squeegee edges and flushed for periods of time.  For me, flushing is best.  Its extra assurance that the edges are clean.  I hated it when i only squeegeed edges, just to have a batch of specks that could of easily been flushed away.

It's pretty straight forward really. You'll be best to reverse roll or drop it. I'm sure you can dig around here to find out how to do that. I personally use a five way tool to do the trimming. You'll likely need a Phillips head or Allen head to remove the door handle. DO NOT remove the seals on that as they are a pain to get back on.

Say custy wants limo on Newer silverado or ram, put 15% over 15% factory you get 5%.  Best combo imo on these is 35% rear, 15% front for the same darkness all around. If its lighter privacy like older toyota, which s around 25%-30%, then do 5%.  Ive just been eyeing it or putting a white piece of paper behind it to gauge it that way.

pbalentine got a reaction from quality tintz in How long do you guys and girls use your yellow turbo or black Unger before replacing them???
Black turbos last me a month or so. I actually just started using black unger channel yesterday, which last the same, but are much more cost effective and dont tire your arm. Also getting ready to ditch the blu max (dulled in a few weeks) and make a handled squegee which allows the blu max channel blade that flexes. I know you can trim the blu max blade, but ive havnt had much luck getting an even trim on them.

Sometimes no matter how clear you are with customers you always have that a-hole who just wants something "free" or just plain a mean old bugger. They dont understand then take that shiat off and recover your losses another day,  but dont let them keep the product. Priceless look on they're face when you rip that shiat off

Pretty much everything except SUV 1/4s.  Works great on rollups with the seal/panel removed.  I wanna try that orange blade.

Midtown, I like the price ponts with removal included.  Im going back to pricing coupe/sedan the same.  That price for a visor will really make those charging $25 for it feel dumb..lol!

I have the new Orange Fusion Blade in both the Stroke Doctor and the Side Swiper, it's a little softer than the blue. I have the side swiper and used it for cleaning, but don't really care for it. I love the Stroke Doctor for back glass but never thought of using it on sides, i'll have to try it. I also just started using a "Ehdis Super Flex Water Blade" (i attached a pic) and put an Orange blade in that as well and will likely retire the side swiper for now. For me, the Stroke Doctor is superior to the Side Swiper, the "Doctor" series of products have better handles imo.

I charge the same for Sedans and Crew Cab trucks.  Also do Coupes and Extended Cab trucks same price.  Makes pricing a lot easier.  Coupes with large side 1/4s are priced the same as a Sedan.  Some dealers here price Sedan, Coupe & SUV the same.
