blackoutauto got a reaction from TQtinting in how much should I charge for a tint job on a regular 4 door sedan?
What I did was raise my prices and told everyone I specialize in high end cars. I've never looked back ever since. If you lowered your prices to much maybe they just think they are buying purple tint. Some people are sceptical when buying window tint. They sometimes worry the cheap guy either has cheap film or is a complete hack. If you lower your prices thinking your gonna beat the guy down the road charging more then you, then you have it all wrong. He's laughing cuz you're gonna be tinting a dusty dodge neon and he is doing the 2017 jeep srt.

the only thing i would have light gaps on is usually old vehicles with no black perimeters on older classics.

yea try to avoid putting water into it, you should be able to heat the window out just dry. take it slow

Watch this video here, copy exactly how he heats it out side to side while taking your time. Start heating with the glove and the u can go over it a 2nd time with a hard squeegee. i know its not the same year but you will get the idea.  just keep trying over and over and eventually you can figure it out. I got really good at vette windows when i had a custom muscle shops give me 3 vettes a day

In my opinion the best method is using a black garbage bag and Windex with ammonia in it.
the second best option is using a jiffy steamer. not a regular pressure on demand steamer

8 or 9 years ago i feel the bulldozer edges were different. it never left a mark if u hit a dry spot.

now if u hit a dry spot it just seems like it leaves a mark like sneakers on a gym floor.

First off, your screen name    SMH!

You will not be able to match factory tint exactly by adding film to *green* glass.  Nobody can.  It just doesn't happen.

Factory tint is different for every manufacturer.  Plus it is built into the glass and not added to glass and ranges is percentage from the 30's to the 20's and occasionally a little lower than 20%, but not very often.
Factory *green* glass (aka. clear) ranges from 78% to 72% depending on manny.  Adding film to factory green glass will not match the built in aspect of factory glass.

Your installer used 15% to try to match 20%.  You are already losing at that before you get started.  To try to match 20% factory film you would need to use somewhere around a 25% to 28% film and you still aren't going to match anything perfectly.

The reason it looks okay from the outside is because the windshield lets in so much light, versus the rear of the vehicle having a roof and not allowing as much light to factory tinted glass.    Physics man, Physics.

As far as your tint getting lighter or darker,,, it will lighten up over time.  How good the film is will determine how much and how fast.  But you film will not change in the curing process.
Of course it will be darker from the inside,,, you have 15% on top of *green* glass so you are probably around 11-12% and your factory glass is 20%

Customers watching always slows me down with all the questions, standing in my path after I peel the film and I walk to the car.  I also hate it when they sit in the car when I'm working on the vehicle

Yelp is terrible, anyone can go on your page and post a bad review, and you complain to them and they wont take it down. Heard you cant even sue them because they have a policy or some shiat that prevents them from getting sued. To this extent i feel consumers hav ea way to "threating" customers because of a bad review. Everytime yelp calls me i tell them to ffuck off. Its stupid.
