CaliTINT got a reaction from quality tintz in 2018 Prius Prime Rear window
Yeah my first one I failed twice! Then I read a post here that said someone anchors down the middle. No need to shrink the middle area just the humps on the left and right. Don't worry about getting it to where the whole window lays flat. It won't happen as the film will keep popping up. Just get a good shrink in there and should be good to lay

Mite have to be redone push evenly all the way ... you mite get contamination like jh said heat up the Corners next time before it leaves... if it has dried too long it might leave a nasty line around the bubble

Try to wear an apron or have a rolling cart near you on the same side of the car.. Don't let tools you need be on opposite side. Install on one side at a time. Walking around adds up.

CaliTINT reacted to quality tintz in Tinting with gloves
My tint teacher taught me if you ever touched the film like on a quarter glass or anything spray it off where you touched it before installing it

CaliTINT got a reaction from Tint Slayer in Misting the air for cleaner work ?
For the most part I didn't see much of a difference.

I don't touch the tint. Use a technique that allows you to carry it to the window without touching the tint side.

Used to do it to certain times of the year we would see more floating contaminants.

CaliTINT reacted to Bham in Ceramic films
This is why I am Global QDP (rock solid film) and QDP Ceramic to go along with my base film. Black box QDP is rock solid across the board and QDP Ceramic goes right along with it, plus all the things @jh812 said. Good - reliable film IMO.

I use global for a few reasons. If you look at tser it competes with all the top more name brand like llumar and 3m. Also zero issues with film as far as failure that I've seen. Lastly minimal haze to it.

CaliTINT reacted to VWaholic in Any tricks on reverse rolling windshields ???
Also make sure to wipe down the rear view mirror and all around where it attaches to the glass. I normally spray there area down really well before my final cleaning of the windshield.

You can't buy directly from global, You have to go through a distributor. If it's a site that is just listed as global that you can buy online I believe that is also owned by express.

40 inch isn't listed on the site, so you have to call in. I complain about their website just about every time I call so outdated.

CaliTINT got a reaction from Andrade92 in Windshield sizes
That's strange because I have a couple rolls of 40"X100' in 80%. I go through Express though, not sure about you. I wouldn't order the 60" cut 36/24 if you don't have 40". I had a van come thinking I could do it in 36" but NOPE! Had to order a 40" to do it.
