Tint Slayer reacted to Felixbiel in Xpel.. great product, poor stock/customer service
I second and third what everyone has said. Great films but terrible customer service and they just don't seem to care that they suck.

Tint Slayer reacted to CaptainSpod in To all shop callers! How would you handle this situation?
I personally have seen MANY new vehicles come from the dealer with flaws, and these are vehicles without even a few hundred miles on them. Unfortunately most consumers don't start to notice imperfections until after they have had some type of after market work done to it, in our case being window tinting.

Not thinking it was you, could've been when she was at a store and someone else did it pushing the rubber up

Good call. You are probably more correct than I am. I was reaching on that theory.
If the third brake light is in the hatrack, then they should disconnect it and see if that helps. If not it's simply the reflection from the diffuser and they could just cover that with some black vinyl possibly??

Tint Slayer reacted to TintDude in Blue Max Power Flex
Blue max works best at pushing water out on the final passes, not so much for cleaning.

Tint Slayer reacted to pbalentine in Tried tucking some vehicles
Been pulling seals/panels on probably 90% of vehicle. I went back the last couple months tucking what could to see if it came out as clean. Id say barely any were as clean. You’re either dealing with fingers popping up, fixing imperfections, bottom contamination or all of the above. You cant say tucking is as clean as pulling panels/ seals unless you start pulling stuff on every vehicle. This lets you see that some of the installs you tucked werent as clean as you thought at the time.

Dragging back debris. I've never done that but seems to me you'd be more likely to scratch.

Tint Slayer reacted to jh812 in Roughest grit sandpaper on glass
Just an FYI the new mustangs don't peanut, at least they haven't for me. I don't do any special prep on them. I've done a ton of chargers and and challengers though and like stated earlier I use 2k with no issues. Keep the glass wet and push one direction not back and forth.

Tint Slayer reacted to pbalentine in Roughest grit sandpaper on glass
Did a 19’ Mustang and did this with 1500. It was 5% and you couldnt even see the lines! Im not sketching on using it on new vehicles anymore. I couldnt drag my nail over the lines, but after sanding could hardly feel the line. I had a 18 Hell Cat Charger last week and was scared to use sandpaper. Spent like 20 minutes pressing peanuts down! Im sanding all that need it now new or old. Thanks to JH!!

I’d say get it redone elsewhere. They’re so many inconsistencies and sloppiness. That is just who they are.

Tint Slayer reacted to Midtown Houston in Did I get a bad tint job on my car?
It look good to me...don’t pick this guy apart because you want it closer to the edge...we charge additional $25 for shave top each glass. For all the tinter here...we suppose to support each other and not tear another tinter apart. I personally don’t see anything wrong with it.

Tint Slayer reacted to Tint Eastwood in My new goal
If your sole argument is that solar won't be around forever then I think it's safe to say we agree, I guess we just differ on the rate of decline, as they apply to us individually. The standards of new construction in metro america are light years away from Everyday, USA. Triple pane glass is no where even close to the standard here, so I dare say a quarter......if not half of the country even knows what low-e or triple pane is. I do agree that a hefty percentage of the metro/commercial solar will dry up and I am thankful I didn't model my business around that percentage.

Tint Slayer reacted to Tint Eastwood in My new goal
Serious question here Tom, and with all due respect. Do you think that a business model of getting the most work at the lowest price could have something to do with the overall negativity and outlook on the market? Because after all a cut throat volume business is typically at the tip of the spear when it comes to vulnerability in market shifts.

Tint Slayer reacted to jh812 in My new goal
Not arguing with that at all but that's every industry as far as downsizing. I've spoke to several that have grown to that magnitude and they say they made just as much when they were a one man band. I don't plan on adding a bunch of employees but I will go the direction my customers take me.

Tint Slayer reacted to TomTint in How to convince my boss to include Auto tinting into our body shop.
Tinting in a body shop.....going to be a mess. ..imagine someone sanding bondo next to you while you are spraying a car black......Decades ago we did work for a few body shops..always had to tint inside the spray booth, or have them bring it to us. The body shops booth is where they make real money..the last thing the owner wants to do is tie up a booth to make dimes while stepping over dollars.
