Since you already know how to handle film it's just about adding on the techniques for bigger panes with gaskets/framing on all four sides. It should come pretty easy but for sure best if you could watch someone skilled do it. Definitely branch out if this works for you, flat glass is a whole different game but a good one if you can figure it out. Find someone to team up with and help motivate each other. We do tons of work for Google, Microsoft, Amazon. Here in Seattle it's building cranes everywhere. Tinting cars has always been the last thing on our minds. Good luck!

Ah five way side then. The purpose of the five way is to hold you slightly off the seal.

Its not about eliminating steps to get things done faster.

Its about learning a routine and repetition and mastering the craft of window tinting..... then comes speed.

it use to take me 4 hours a car when i first started. Now (5 years later) i can complete a whole car in 1.5-2hrs, pulling panels hand cutting and sticking super clean windows out the door.

AND its not work if it is FUN!!!!

It's pretty straight forward really. You'll be best to reverse roll or drop it. I'm sure you can dig around here to find out how to do that. I personally use a five way tool to do the trimming. You'll likely need a Phillips head or Allen head to remove the door handle. DO NOT remove the seals on that as they are a pain to get back on.

Both! Light mist when cleaning/squeegeeing and flush when about to install

Just to add about the distributor, 3M does not ship the dealers the film, they use distributors to handle it.  So you would have to become a 3M dealer through 3M to get access to the window film.  The distributor works hand-in-hand with 3M and would not sell the film to non-dealers.

Only there colorstable and crystalline have the logos, they have a HP line which is the bottom line and the FX premium is the next one up. As far as a dealer you can go on the 3M site and type in your area and if that shop is a dealer then they would be on it

Whenever the sharpener or sanding it stops working on it. If it keeps leaving water streaks then it's a no go.

The only thing you can do is try and turn it into a positive, which I know may be difficult. I would have my shop pristine at all times with all employees very professional looking polos or what not. Try and set yourself way apart from them. Anyone can beat you price, but it's tough to beat the one that wants to outdo.

Technical Explanation: It's about Physics. The rigid nature of the film being unable to bend in tight spaces, combined with the height of each dot, does not allow long term adhesion to the glass between each dot. Rather you get a suspension of the film over the glass spaces, causing it to have this silvery appearance. This can be demonstrated at your peel board by removing liner from a small film sample and hold it in close proximity to the glass surface to show how it has a similar silvery appearance (almost like looking at dual pane or triple pane glass from the outside of a home's window). Now, dry stick the film to the glass and show what the film looks like when adhering to the glass surface.
