pbalentine got a reaction from quality tintz in Contamination
Just imagine that everyone on tintdude gets to walk around the vehicle to check it out. Thats what i do. Doesnt matter to me if the car is worth $3 or $30k. They should all be tinted to a certain standard.  I'll redo stuff i know the custy most likely wont notice, cause i never want a customer to doubt my work and bring it to a competetor to check it out.

pbalentine got a reaction from quality tintz in Global and Fading
I can clear this up...that is my post about Global. I got the film from a Global Dealer locally that is no longer selling Global.  Howard from EWF doubted if it was really Global and wanted a roll number, since it faded so quickly.  That Global dealer also sold a cheap dye and im positive that it was i got.

As far a logevity, Global can not be beat.  Ive had EWF Classic Black for about 5 years on my personal vehicle and it has zero fading, no color change and having a strong scratch coat it has not one scratch!

Just did an aggressive Facebook ad to boost up our sale before we head off to SEMA.  The phone won't quit ringing.  I can't even keep up.  Been booking appointment all morning.  Maybe this Facebook ad work or maybe it is because 700,000 vehicle just got total loss due to Hurricane Harvey. I would recommend doing this.

Probably 75% my customers have garages with space where the doors can extend without hitting stuff. The ones with no room do make it a little harder. Sometimes i can pull the vehcile to ones side and tint Bg, 1/4s, and driver side, then move for the passenger side. I also shut the garage when its windy if i can. Damn that sucks when its 110* though.

What kind of car was it?

What's likely happening is the water is pooling up on the bottom seal and causing the film to not want to lay down. Squeegee pattern has a lot to do with it as well.

Also, before even cleaning the window, put the window all the way down and wet and clean out the channel that the window runs in with a hard card wrapped in a micro fiber cloth....both sides and the top.

Crud in an install is 95% something in your procedure that misses elimination of the source and about 5% Weird things that "never" happen.

One thing I have noticed with a few of my guys in the past, they would not clean the top of the door frame. When you are working on the door it is being bumped and moving. Dust can fall down from the frame. I always clean all around the frame above the window to help with this. I have thought about a paint suit when installing PPF. Wouldn't hurt.

True, but more and more complaints are online about Suntek from both installers and consumers...so eventually anyone that researches it will see the negative posts.

pbalentine got a reaction from quality tintz in Razor blade or scrubby pad or both?
I razor only if somewhat clean. For removal, razor, scrub, wipe clean  (to eliminate adhesive globs), then squeegee.

Hey Jake, welcome! Viewing the mobile site, it looks awesome. I like the clean and simple design. Looks like it was built on the Wix platform?

These days it's extremely important to have a mobile friendly site. You will actually rank higher in Google's search engine algorithms if they detect a mobile/responsive website.

    Jake,

Welcome to the forum. I looked over the site, and I have a few thoughts. Probably on the end of the scale as being super picky... but whatever.

    1. The chart on the residential page - It doesn't really say much.. it gives data, but doesn't really say something like - "The greater the # the better" or something like that to indicate what's being shown. (Like charts that show the capabilities of graphic cards.... numbers don't mean anything if it's not clear as to what is being shown)

    2. On that chart - you have 'VS' - I would use lower case -  "Factory vs. Film" - IMO it just looks better.

    3. Major props for using the word 'tantalizing'.

Lastly, I didn't see anything about film brands. Which I'm totally ok with - I think as a business you should promote yourself over any brand, but I think you can balance that with at least having something listed somewhere. Not all over the place shoving it down customer's throats, but at least somewhere.

Other then that - I think it's really really nice.

First off, do not use Johnson & Johnson.  That stuff leaves a mess and clogs stuff up. Made the switch months ago to the generic baby shampoo at target.  It doent leave a slimmy mess in the bottle, plus its cheaper.
