if you're using CarbonFX it's basically the same level film with a different hue. Ultra is charcoal, CarbonFX is black. Like same install but different tone.

I don't think Vintage and Prime are color stable. I think he'd want UltraFX or CarbonFX if he was looking for no fade.

I like being called 'boss' or something like that. I hate when people call me 'sir'. Makes me feel super older then I already feel. lol

We have some customers do it to us but doesn't really bother us cause we are very relaxed.  I usually start off with a "yes sir" or "yes ma'am" then quickly changes into "what's up man" or "alright man, be safe".  I would just repeat it back to them when they say it to you.  So if they say Hey Boss, you respond What Can I do for you Boss or Chief.  I agree with the wife, you're being a little bit tight assed if that bothers you.

Depends on the amount of exposure. I had a non color stable film discolor in like 5 months here where im at. I would go with a color stable film. Doesnt cost much more.

Mine in Eastern NC pretty much year round is 2oz to 1 gallon in a corny with 3 gallons at a time typically. I do also have a super slip bottle so that if the window beads up I'll use it. Also I only use off brand supposedly name brand will gum up the tank.

If it slips too much you are using too much.

If it sticks too much you are not using enough.

Really sharp corners on that red, i wonder how long they stay that sharp, even if they wear a little still sharper corner than the other 2 in the pic. Gonna check one out. Thanks

quality tintz reacted to Tint Slayer in Can i get a 24inch or 30 inch plotter for sides only???
Some dude in one of the other groups told me he had a 24" plotter that he had gotten for nothing and was using it but not much on back glass. So i called around assuming a 24" would be cheaper, oddly enough it's not much cheaper and not worth buying a 24" over a 40". I even called the people at FVD for some guidance on the 24" or 40" and it was the same, not big enough price difference to warrant buying a 24". the 40" is best  bang for buck as it's also one of the more popular in other trades as well.

Back when i was doing steel drawings in the 90's we plotted out our 24"x36" drawings on a 40" pen plotter. Maybe call a couple architectural firms and ask if they have an old plotter for sale as most have changed from plotters to large format printers and copiers in the past decade.

After replacing to many Red dot's I started give a the first set of tools. If they are worn out they swap them for a new one. If they lost it they pay for a new one.

I would likely but the basic tools and supply blades and replace worn out tools but make an employee replace any they lost.

my first plotter i got was a 48" in the end it wasn't large enough once I started to a bunch of full PPF packages. I ended up getting the 64" in the end anyways.

if you do window film only then i would atleast get a 40" plotter so u can do back windows. Cost difference is most likely only 1000 bucks
if you plan on doing ppf I would say 64"

I'm sure you could but why? The cost difference to step up to a larger, more capable plotter isn't going to be that much in the long run. Your cutting software is going to cost the same regardless of whether you're doing just sides or all around. Also consider that fitment issues with plotted patterns are most prevalent in the side windows.

I had stupid issues with Llumar including film separated layers when I tried to pull the liner on some ATR film.  The CTX scratched if you look at it wrong.  I know another guy that is a die hard Llumar fan and he has had lots of issues with it.

I seen one car come back with adhesive failure that had about 5 year old ATR 05 on the rear.  Was a Mazda 626.  I used Film-on the entire time and have every since. I didn't get to cover the guy on warranty as I no longer used Llumar.  I had a relationship with Performance Films still but they would not give my store credit or film to cover the job....

I didn't use Llumar long, 2 years, but when I switched to Global I never looked back.  I could buy 3 40" rolls of Global for the cost of 2 40" Llumar!  No small change.  I also gained 10 to 15 minutes per car as I had less stupid little things to deal with..... $100 an hour makes that 10 to 15 minutes worth more than the film cost difference!
