Both! Light mist when cleaning/squeegeeing and flush when about to install

The bulk of what I see can be layed down with your thumbnail more than likely as far as the back window is concerned. Still sounds like a hack install as a whole though

I tint part time - I work in a shop for minimum wage 9-2, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. I find most of my tint work revolves around the weekend so I usually end up with 4-6 cars in over Saturday to Monday.

Works great for me, the only set back is not being able to answer the phone on the days I'm at the minimum wage job. It covers my personal bills though so it's for piece of mind.

Reslly enjoying tinting though, need to take the leap into full time really.

On vehicles that have a wide DOT Matrix like the older Accord's/Mustang's, we let the customer know ahead of time what to expect.  We give them the option of us tinting over it with film or paying more to have us cover that section with Dotrix vinyl.  We explain the vinyl will look better on the outside, but that you will lose visibility in the section.  If they decide to go the tint route, we let them know to wait for it to fully dry out and if they do not like the look, they can bring it back in for us to cut off that section of tint to replace it with the Dotrix.  In the end they are paying the same amount of money before or after the tint job.

Technical Explanation: It's about Physics. The rigid nature of the film being unable to bend in tight spaces, combined with the height of each dot, does not allow long term adhesion to the glass between each dot. Rather you get a suspension of the film over the glass spaces, causing it to have this silvery appearance. This can be demonstrated at your peel board by removing liner from a small film sample and hold it in close proximity to the glass surface to show how it has a similar silvery appearance (almost like looking at dual pane or triple pane glass from the outside of a home's window). Now, dry stick the film to the glass and show what the film looks like when adhering to the glass surface.

Nothings worse when they ask you to match some redicoulsly low price.  They obviously do not trust the place and only like their price...thats it!  No, i will not match that price....thats one reason why i charge more...trust!  Sometimes i say i’ll say i price match “reputable” shops, so whats the shops name?? They never know....

I'll stick to my prices as I believe I offer a great service. My work (in my opinion) is high quality.

Just going through a bad week for it I think. Also, the customers that think I'm too expensive are usually the Facebook quotes, not by the ones that call from finding my site on google.

I ask for an hour on a 3 door hatch, 3-4 hours for a 4x4 or 5 door hatch but I'm usually closer to 2.5 hours - I just don't like to put myself under pressure. Never had anyone not book in because of how long I take. I have great reviews and that's all that matters 🤘🏻

Guess I’m an old fart doing the average car in 3-4 hours. Then again I rarely have a warranty or redo. Charge more and work less is my goal.

    Hello Jkatfelix,
Time.. Believe it or not is irrelevant.
The longer you invest into your craft, should not alter your return.

There are a great many people who appreciate that you take your time and ensure your quality of workmanship is of a top standard . These are the folks that will pay extra for that specific criteria. Including myself. Ensure top standard and charge accordingly.

I can only say this.... Quality will always win the race. In all aspects. Speed and time is irrelevant.

    Hopefully this helps.
    Merry Christmas to everyone.
    Michael.

I've pulled seals almost from the beginning on most everything except for full size pickups, makes life a hell of a lot easier.

The last video is the reason I'm now only getting 1-3 tiny specs of dust per drop glass. Great tutorial!
