That's too bad that happened to your new car.  People should learn from the damage on your car.  DO NOT CUT ON A CAR.  Use a sharpie and draw on the tint and cut it on the Peel board.  Back in the day, glass was not so soft and we could cut on the car.  Times and glass has changed.  Sharpies are cheap and windows are expensive.  

Try the xpel gel for door cups.   Works great.

We use a Graphtec 8600 and Clean Cut 25 Degree blades.  Our speed is set on 35 and the force is set on 16.  Blade depth set accordingly.  I have seen your issues on plotters before.  Usually the problem was a bad blade holder.  The blade holder not letting the blade spin freely. Your problem could also be caused by the cutting head being loose on the cutter.  Cut strips always come into play as well.  Just make sure there are no big grooves in the cut strip, if so, replace.  Good luck.  

use a gasket stick to loosed up the rubber around the qtr glass windows.  use some extra soap in your slip too.  For trimming the gaskets, try using a NT 30 degree blade.  Clean cuts with very little effort.  

I would have your attorney talk to your landlord.  That is just wrong.

are people still using spot shot to dissolve tint glue?

It is funny that you can call a tint tools distributor and buy a Hand job, stroke Dr and a pink clean.  

There is one big difference being overlooked when someone ask, "How much tint slime do you add to water?"  The most over looked thing is the water.  Water is VERY different from town to town and state to state.  One installer might need to add one ounce to a gallon of water and a different installer in a different state might need to add 2 ounces to make the same tint slip the same amount.  The next thing is film adhesive.  Different brands of film will require different amounts of "soap" added to make slip.  Third, Glass differences.  Some manufacturers glass requires more slip than other manufacturers.  Lexus glass generally requires more "soap" to be added than Honda glass.  
 
What I am saying is,  Add the proper amount of "soap" to your water to allow you to position your film. When you squeegee the film out is should stick pretty quick.  If it still moves around then you have too much "soap" in your water.
