Yeah I would pass on that. I have no experience with it but anytime cheap and plotter are in the same sentence it's never good.

flat rock stan reacted to civicrice in Xpel vs Gobal same company Garware, spec off
don't sweat it its just tint.  at the end of the day service goes a long way.  anything from lumar, xpel, 3m and global should meet your needs. they are all good films that will last for years! but to answer your original question xpel and global might be made by the same manufacturer but are NOT THE SAME FILM.

I don't think xpel is made by Garware but i can tell you that the Global film itself will never be bad.  I've used the HP for 13 years now and NEVER had a return that was for film.  Had returns on the Llumar I used though right before I switched to Global.

Working on a piece of heavy equipment in the middle of no where a wasp crawled onto my hand as I was making a cut. I went to shake him off but he held on for dear life and got all pissy so I swatted at him forgetting my blade was open. 37 stitches.

First, QUIT looking at film under a fluorescent light....

If you don't see this in sunlight then get over it.

Shrinking I'm a glove guy. The only card I ever use without a towel is the soft orange rib card. Flat white card is my favorite when they will bend without breaking ... using as a pair....Pulling back gaskets using one to pull back on bottom gasket and the other wrapped in a towel to set problem fingers or pull back gasket with one and tuck film with the other .

I’ve used the six inch unger for close to 40 years. Make the black blade so it hangs over the end of the channel about 3/8 inch so you don’t possibly scratch the top of some door panels. The Fusion Soft Pink Clean in a handee handle is great also if you don’t like the unger.

flat rock stan reacted to pbalentine in Decent affordable tint and tools to learn?
Those wanting to tint see the tools and think it looks fun and its a cheap start up.  You need tools often and theres much more that you need than tools. To learn on your own might take 3x longer than getting trained at a shop.  If you are looking for and easy business that wont frustrate you...you’re looking into the wrong trade.

flat rock stan reacted to pbalentine in how to get a entry level job as a window tinter?
Show up when their tinter is at lunch.  To show them your skills...maybe tear off a panel and bomb drop or just start shrinking the bg if its really curvy. They’ll surely let the guy go and give you the job.

Computer Cut will let you use any film you want. You pay a higher monthly fee unless you buy a minimum amount of film per quarter from Solar Gard but the patterns are the best I have found

Carpet protection film, also good for back decks, you can probably find cheaper than this one-

Always recommend to cover the panels. Edge film has some really great reusable covers or home depo sells pre-mask shark skin that is pretty reasonable.
When you still get part of the cloth wet you might wet the entire area so when it drys you don't have the stain line. Just saying...works!

flat rock stan reacted to pro-tect mobile in Where to buy Pre-cut ppf kit?
Jeff the person making the inquiry is not a dealer. This is for a self install which was made clear in the first post. So if he was a dealer I am sure he wouldn't have come in here asking where to buy kits. He would already be set up. Even the dealer prices are high considering you guys are using your own patterns and cutting your own film.
