CaliTINT reacted to TintDude in TintDude.com Does Not...
Lately a couple of people have suggested taking the forum to the Goliath of Facebook. I suppose they prefer the ease and that there are many people on it.
I think these people deserve a thoughtful response from me why we will never be on Facebook and why TintDude.com is different.
The easiest way to do this is to say what we are not, so I titled the post: TintDude.com Does Not...

TintDude.com does not have a team of psychologists making their product as addictive as possible.
TintDude.com does not add members to the forum, every member here signed up. Unlike the groups that can be created in a day where the admin 'adds' members that they have info about to make it look like hundreds of people signed up.
TintDude.com does not track you around the web and keep track of all the websites you visit.
TintDude.com does not make you wait 2 weeks to delete your account.
TintDude.com does not create a psychological profile of you that it can share with 3rd parties.
TintDude.com does not sell your information to, or share your information with 3rd parties or device makers.
TintDude.com does not require in its terms of service that if you use the mobile app that we have full access to any and all banking information done on that phone.
TintDude.com does not build shadow profiles of non-members.
TintDude.com does not work with payment sites to know what products you buy online.
TintDude.com does not care about your race, gender or politics.
TintDude.com does not perform psychologic experiments on its members.

    Facebook does.

I hope everyone appreciates the difference and what we are trying to do here. Thanks for your time.

It's horrible, needs to be redone.  Dust spots are minor and are hard to find, these are acceptable since we do not work in an air controlled environment.  What you have is pieces of dirt or larger particles which is why you're getting those white circles...the particle is pushing the film up away from the glass.  I see a lot of mobile tint jobs that look like this since they're tinting out in the open most of the time.

Finally got the rear window, it is $475 from Tesla.  We went to their location and was able to buy it there.

We don't tint them now, but we are leaving a lot of money on the table since we do tons of Model S and X...we get at least five quote requests a week for Model 3.  Since our prices are doubled for them, it will be well worth it.

This is one way people tint fast...they dont press out any tiny specs! I press out anything along top edge before rolling glass up. Then I check the entire glass. Then when job is finished I check again. If they let it go like that they either dont care or thats just  the quality of their work. I would have them remove it and just go somewhere else.

Luckily we haven't anyone act negative about it.  We have quoted incorrectly a couple of times where we assumed it was just two rollups.  We just let them know it is normally more but we will waive it this time.

Screw those new RAV4 quarters lol.  We add $20 if we have to do quarters.  I used to just do them because they were few and far between. But recent increase in them had to tack some on considering a quarter glass can take as long or longer than a roll up to do.

If they are super super easy (with borders) sometimes I don't charge extra because they take minutes and the tint can be taken from scraps. I have only been adding $10, sometimes $20  to the job.

I try not to mention it to the customer anymore because I feel like most customers because they think I'm crazy for counting it as a window and charging more.

Not the most hated but I did not enjoy this job back in the 80's, despite its notoriety. No wheels.

I just had a customer that added on a last-minute sunstrip which I hate offering.  Even though we went up on pricing on sunstrips, I think they are such a waste of time.  I really wished we just stopped offering them but makes no sense to tell a customer no, we don't do those...it would just sound stupid.

CaliTINT reacted to DynamicATL in Best advertise for business
We advertise (paid) on Google and Yelp mostly with some FB/IG sprinkled in the middle.  Like @CaliTINT said, Yelp seems to work very well for us...we probably respond to 20 emails a day on Yelp alone.  We tried Yelp in the past and it was horrible.  No results, expensive, and everything had to be done through talking to someone at Yelp.  Since then, they changed how advertising works there and is much simpler and IMO cheaper.  They seem to be much easier to work with now too plus you have greater control at the touch of your tips than before.  Craigslist used to be great, but now they charge $3-$5 per ad and only run it for 30 days when it was 45 days when free.  We get a lot of interaction when running ads on FB/IG, but I don't see tons of that resulting in a transaction.  Now Marketplace on FB has been great for Window Tint.  It is completely free and gets you in front of a lot of people.
