CnCCustoms got a reaction from Tint Slayer in Need Advice for choosing main film of choice
Used express for over a year. Been with SolarFX now for right at 2 years. I've almost every line available from both. Express is ok. never had any construction issues at all. It's harder to work with than the SolarFX. SolarFX has got the best adhesive and scratch coat I've ever seen! I use now the Ultra series and the HybridFX Series. Both are phenomenal in their respected fields! Solar is a little harder to get the hang of shrinking(takes more heat). But once you find your groove. It'll form to anything! And creasing isn't an issue even for such a thick film and the beautiful thing is... if you do crease. Little heat and hater blade. And it will chisel right out! I've used just about every big name film out there. And SolarFX is by far the best all around film for the money that I've personally handled.

Do they sell distilled in a 1 liter bottle that you can just add slip and put a sprayer on it?

Cases of 12 at a time from store here. Used to run filtration system. Still got specs and debris. And since swapping to distilled water its next to none!

I’ve been making my own soak shields for a long time now. I get some remote wire then I take paper shop towels and I twist them into a rope around the wire. This is only a one time use. The real soak shields look way better and I might have to invest in some.

This isn't the same situation, but we've recently had a company, and former customer, start trying to pull our customers out from under us.
They charge the exact same as us, and, I swear, will call us to find out prices on the odd jobs they don't know how to price. We found out what film they use, and now offer that film below our/their cost. Then of course we offer the usual LLumar ATC, CTX, PP, AIR. Still have yet to have a customer choose the Courage film. Haven't lost any of our 16 dealerships either, but we're all friends I guess. Just dropped them all off some nice Christmas baskets full of goodies.

CnCCustoms reacted to DynamicATL in Best windshield tint
The dashboard reflection happens with all film and is there without film, you will want a lighter shade to reduce that...something in the 70-90 range. I would recommend a Ceramic or similar on the windshield to get the heat rejection because the standard dyed film you have now is not doing much, basically just adding a shade to it. So doing a lighter shade will be pointless unless you get a higher heat rejection film.

I think he will eventually weed himself out and bad reviews on his business will catch up to him.
I think the only thing you can really do is fight fire with fire (not literally) but keep it professional. Really amp up your website with detailed information to educate your customers on the film differences and quality. When you do any type of marketing do the same. You can talk trash about other shops installing cheap films in your social media etc. but just not anything direct.
Respond to all negative reviews professionally and positively.

As for bad reviews, repond/reply to them in the most professional manner; which can actually make you look good.
As for them being cheaper, I would stress that your installs are cleaner, which is most important and if something happens with the film, you'll be in business to assist them. Also explain you see these shops come and go and if they want great film and install you're for them, but if they want cheap shiat, you're not. That basically what i do now, i say if you want best film and install im your guy, but if you want just a cheap price and film that last a year im not for you. And no, i wont match there price...many $99 tint are out there that will be gone really soon go find them. You get what you pay for.
Edit: You mentioned he does good work. I would say that ceramic is usually around $4-$500. If he charges that low, i doubt your getting ceramic=cheap rebox.
