Stewy got a reaction from quality tintz in Half peel question?? Top load
Its different for everycar bro. You dont want to peel too much to where it touches anything.

The yellow circles is where you can shrink your film. The blue lines is where you CANNOT shrink.

Stewy got a reaction from flat rock stan in Online training videos VS Physical training
I learned from @flat rock stan at Oregon. It is always a better learning experience when you are physically there learning. But, i have been told that he has had many students learn just with his videos. Great teacher and I would not be where I am today if it weren't for him.

Stewy got a reaction from quality tintz in Training
I went to training at oregon. @flat rock stan was my trainer. He knows alot about sticking plastic into a glass. I have my Certification of completion displayed at my shop in our display area. I brag about that everytime I get asked about tint. I spent thousands of dollars before i went to his training trying to learn on my own. Plus, global will reimburse your money spent on the training. They will give you 10% off on purchases until the training cost has been reimbursed.

Stewy got a reaction from Diablo's Tint in Delearship saying ceramic tint messes with Nav
Most likely. But try saying that to them. They are set. I just did a 2019 RLX in SFX ceramic. The woner of the dealership will be driving it around. I guess they are using it as a test. I have a feeling that it is not just a test. I think its a start of something bigger *fingers crossed*

Stewy reacted to Super Dave in Cut without adding extra
I cant speak for everyone, but mostly, it’s just the way I was trained. Back then- no internet, no sharing of ideas. I mean no one told anyone how to do anything if they didn’t directly benefit from it. Hell by the time “Tint Dude” came out, I’d been tinting close to a decade!

Not really. I push really hard and the blade bends as i do it.

Stewy reacted to highplains in Training
They both have a steep learning curve, honestly don't know that one is really worse that the other. I picked up PPF first but that had everything to do with my job at the time. I believe there are several training options in the midwest, Interwest Distribution Co has training for both tint and ppf, and @flat rock stan does tint training periodically in St. Louis.

Stewy reacted to GlassWithClass in 2018 Acura RLX
New hybrid. Front doors are a breeze one screw under rubber in arm rest, pops right off. Back doors same deal to get the panel off. However the sweep is attached to a privacy screen, you need to remove the screen. Its attached to the quarter window screen also. Pop the front cover off the quarter window screen its three red clips. There are two silver screws behind that you need to remove. Once the panel is pulled there are four more silver screws along the bottom of the screen that need to be removed, then the whole thing comes off as one unit. After that its just another Acura. BG is flat, has a moulded third brake light, buy easy to get your dozzer or whatever you use behind it. Did this one in 20%.

So basically your own preferences. For vinyl, Im a big fan of Avery vinyl but 3m vinyl film sucks. But that is my own preference. I know that 3m is a good film but i hate installing it because it has an adhesive technology that creates all kinds of problems for me

Stewy got a reaction from Tint Slayer in Guinness World Record for Auto Window Tinting Set!
The world record kinda sucks. I can tint 20+ windows in 2 hours. But, the marketing is what I like. I like seeing manufacturers work together with other shops. Expel is really pushing for the tint industry. Its good for us tinters. The world record can only be judged by us tinters but the normal person don't know the ins and outs of what we do. Im sure that everyone here undertands that if we were to grab 21 tinters from tintdude and a shit load of helpers, we will demolish that record. But that is not the point. We didn't come up with the marketing idea and, if we did, we didn't make it happen.

438 windows 170 vehicles from 21 installers and a bunch of helpers and assistants in 8 hours. That's an average 8 to 9 vehicles per installer and/or 20 to 21 windows per installer.
