Diablo's Tint reacted to Stewy in Training
I went to training at oregon. @flat rock stan was my trainer. He knows alot about sticking plastic into a glass. I have my Certification of completion displayed at my shop in our display area. I brag about that everytime I get asked about tint. I spent thousands of dollars before i went to his training trying to learn on my own. Plus, global will reimburse your money spent on the training. They will give you 10% off on purchases until the training cost has been reimbursed.

Diablo's Tint got a reaction from Tint Slayer in What other hobbies do you have?
I have too many hobbies lol, I should work more and play less. My hobbies go in seasons, currently as the weather is getting nicer, I'm back on my road bike, cycling laying down the miles. I also enjoy shooting all year long, but same thing with the weather getting better its skeet shooting outside.

Diablo's Tint reacted to Stewy in Delearship saying ceramic tint messes with Nav
Most likely. But try saying that to them. They are set. I just did a 2019 RLX in SFX ceramic. The woner of the dealership will be driving it around. I guess they are using it as a test. I have a feeling that it is not just a test. I think its a start of something bigger *fingers crossed*

Swing BenchClothes Closet for the misses
Picnic Table for poolside Dining Table Swing Bench for back deckShutters
These are samples of my hobby.
The custom shutters for the house were the simplest using PVC planks.
The dining table has interchangeable top; if we tire of the Barnwood look the trim can be removed and planks replaced with another type laminate flooring.
The deck swing bench has a recycled umbrella canvas for shade and the cup holders are recycled track-light fixture covers.😁

Counting money
People ask me that all the time. I work 6 days a week just about every week, couple that with a family doesn't leave much time for other things. In another life I used to enjoy working out a lot but that's since left.

Diablo's Tint reacted to JaySun Rayzor in Practice Makes Perfect On A Budget
Technique is a key word, u don’t have to peel liner and apply to work on technique, cutting and applying, the transfer from one side of glass to the other or from ur wall glass is were beginners should start, become comfortable with handling the film and squeegee process before U start slicing up rolls of film, ie do the same door ten times with same piece of film without adhesive. Speed comes with comfort, most of us can tint the cars blind cuz we that’s what we’ve done for so many years, good luck 🍀

Diablo's Tint reacted to TTS in Flexible Tube Light - Must Buy
Received my tint light today.
Yes too too the critics... it is like anything in life.. if you want to take the time to source the components you could build one cheaper.. however,
this light is bright, its flexible, I believe Jeff has built them too the highest standards possible for a tool that is not coming out of a production factory. It lights the rear decks very very well !
If if you are on the fence I would spend the money and order one. You can also feel good that you are supporting a fellow window tinter who is trying to help advance our industry !
Thanks for the great light man !!

Diablo's Tint reacted to TintDude in NEW Tinter , need you help
Thanks for the constructive criticism. Please keep in mind that the opinions expressed here are those of the participants.
What the original poster posted isn't unique, and certainly isn't encouraged. Maybe we can explain to him/her why it's a bad idea to jump into an industry with no business license and/or not enough skill, or why it isn't good to be a low-baller etc, instead of implying that the forum is run badly.

The chemical smell is pretty normal from the adhesive remover. Yeah you're best off there to just get the refund that's terrible.

Diablo's Tint reacted to Roach in Wanna ditch tinting and make paperclips???
Basically, you mine all the metal in the universe and can no longer make any clips.
There is an ending though... story-wise... so it's not like you just run out of materials and it ends.

Diablo's Tint reacted to TNTLady in Seventh generation dishsoap ???
So it wont degrade the glue? Ive wondered about this myself as I want to limit my chemical exposures further as I have issues am constantly having to detox my liver of all I expose myself to on a daily bases when tinting.

Diablo's Tint reacted to DynamicATL in Tinting Windshield with existing Glare Strip?
We just had this situation the other day. We removed the strip, tinted the full windshield, add a strip on top of the windshield tint. This will look the best and you get to charge them for the removal/installation of the strip.

Diablo's Tint reacted to flipflopless in How did you get your start?
did landscaping for 13 years. owned a company for 7 years. loved it at first and then started to hate it. my best friend and co worker moved away to look after an exotic car rental place.
turns out it was a tint shop.
they trained him up and after 8 months he let me crash on his couch for 6 months and trained me on tinting. i wish i could have picked up this skill 10 years ago when i was younger.
him gettting me "in" has changed my life. now im learning to wrap cars and soon ill be getting into ppf. i work at a stlying center so the moon is the limit to what i can learn. i mean i just picked up headlight restoration. i really like doing it aswell for the before and after and the customers are always extremely stoked.

Diablo's Tint reacted to jh812 in To launch or not to launch business? Help please!
I can only speak from my experience, which my story is pretty similar to yours. I did however tint full-time out of my home garage for three years, prior to I did three years part time out of home. I've just recently moved into a shop and have had great success with it so far. I can definitely tell an increase in business, and I wouldn't change what I have now for anything. That being said everybody's situation is different, so kind of depends on the whole Spectrum. You have to factor in a lot of things besides just your rent. There comes a lot of expenses with getting a shop opened up that you don't even realize beforehand. It's a lot of hard work and if you think you'll just work 9 to 5 you'll be sadly mistaken. It's a constant struggle to balance everything between paying bills, tinting windows, and of course the main thing getting customers in the door. That being said if there are no other legit shops in town I don't think it would be a bad idea. And oddly enough as I was typing all this out I had a call from a local service center right down the road from my new shop that they saw my sign and now I'm giving them a quote haha.

Diablo's Tint got a reaction from Tint Slayer in Sole Proprietor vs LLC
(not tax advice and talk to accountant) I'd do SP first, it's cheaper to start & you'll probably have a loss the first year or two, and if you're working somewhere else it makes it easy do deduct your losses on your taxes (pass through or something like that), once your up and running LLC. You can homestead you house and have the same protection. I'm not sure your situation. In Las Vegas, the common trend is having a personal guarantee even if you have a LLC.

Diablo's Tint reacted to jh812 in Sole Proprietor vs LLC
I'm no tax expert by any means and it's best to speak with an account but I started out about the same as you and was advised to do sole proprietor. I've been in business as that for roughly 8 years now with no issues. Will likely incorporate next year for tax benefits.
