Jake got a reaction from Super Dave in How do you cool your shop in the summer?
Location is big with evap coolers. Her in Utah it is very dry in the summer. We have the big port-a-cool. It works decently well. Not ice cold but will drop about 10 degrees in the shop.Shop is 1800 ft2. If I owned the building I would install central air in a heat beat.

Jake got a reaction from CaliTINT in Tesla Model 3 Warning
I have gotten 2 under my belt now. Both done in Xpel XR ceramic. I can't speak for you Crystalline guy because I know that film is another beast, but it really is not bad to do. The rear window is more time consuming because of the size. But they have been priced accordingly so I have felt good about doing them. I used a 60" and shrank to the sides. Then I back rolled the film from the bottom to the top. Use a bit of extra slip to give you the extra time to squeegee out the water from the back glass. The plastic around the back glass sticks out a bit farther then the frit edge. So when you cutting make sure your not following the plastic and cutting it short. I have talked with more owners then the ones I have tinted.Seems these owner are going to be a different breed. They act like they are Elon Musk himself.

Jake got a reaction from flat rock stan in Did I get a bad tint job?
Not all cars are the same to tint. You could do 2 Silverado"s in the amount of time it takes to do an accord.

Jake got a reaction from wade_660 in Who offers the option of applying a ceramic coating for your customers cars while in your shop.
I do not because we do not do paint correction. Ceramic coating are starting to be everywhere. Unfortunately I don't think that's a good thing. The guys I know that do it spent many hours and are extremely meticulous with the paint. Now it seem many guys just slap it on and go.I think it's going to cheapen the product.

Jake got a reaction from deadjame5 in Water bubbles In PPF
How so? Every PPF installer I have ever known will use a hypodermic needle to pull out a small air pocket if needed myself included. I have never once seen an issue.

Jake got a reaction from XPEL Jeff in 18 Ferrari 488 spider
I have pulled paint on a Ferrari. It was about 10 years ago on a 460. I know others that have also. But I agree with you. I wouldn't pass up on the install.

Jake got a reaction from Polishworks in slip solutions
With Xpel Ultimate i use baby shampoo. With Suntek i used dawn Ultra. I felt the dawn gave a better tack with Suntek's less aggressive adhesive.

Jake got a reaction from Stewy in Shrinking and installing sideways
It seems to me most windows are wider then they are tall so you have more area to shrink top and bottom.

Jake got a reaction from jh812 in Covering up 3rd brake lamp
Your argument may be valid if covering the third brake light made it opaque. But the light is still clearly visible through the window film when lit. Even with 5% the light will shine through.
