Looks like something an architectural firm could use for rolled up drawings, or to mail or deliver them. They're probably gold to someone out there.

Express. Click link at top of page under film/inventory. Buy classic black in 25/50 ft lengths 40in and maybe 20in for doors. You can split 40, for car and some truck doors.

Tint Slayer reacted to DynamicATL in Llumar - 3m - Suntek or ASWF
I wouldn't have ASWF in the mix, but the other 3 will depend on the quality of the shop.  Priority is going to be on the installation side of things, with the film itself being a close 2nd.  If you want the longest-lasting film in Florida, I would go with 3M Color Stable which is a Carbon window film.  It will outlast the entire Llumar/Suntek lineup, especially in that state.  The only downside to 3M Color Stable is it does have some Low Angle Haze.  This happens when the sun is at a low angle (morning and evening), it can hit your windows just right and it will have a cloudy appearance.  All window films along with stock glass have this, but 3M Color Stable is a touch more than normal.  Suntek, in general, is the worst for Low Angle Haze.  As far as scratching goes, Suntek tends to also be the worst.

I don't think @Midtown Houston is out of line. I also agree with @florida tinter with what that training could ultimately set you up for.

But, as @highplains is saying, what are the chances of you retaining all of that information in a two week period? Install, sales and general business training. That's a crash course at best time line wise.

I would like to see someone offer a more industry focused business training program. Something more geared toward our industry. That would be valuable to me. I'm a firm believer that the best way to gain speed and quality on your installs, within reason, is repetition. The business side however, you could make some small adjustments that could turn into huge profits and never "stumble across" them no matter how long you're in business.

This is a very simple filter for very little money.  I think some installers might be installing in older buildings with older pipes. That could possibly be an issue with some shops.  Filtering your water if need be is always a good idea.  You can never go wrong with distilled water either.

So was contacted by CoolVu today saying this video was "unauthorized".  That is all I needed to hear to make my decision on carrying the film or not...it is a hard no.  If they tripping about a video that shows virtually nothing, imagine if the film starts having failures and you try to speak out about it.  Not to mention the below manufacturer sells the film on Amazon.  🤣🤣

Tint Slayer reacted to Tintguy1980 in Breathing problems associated with installing IPA
When I used it back in the 80's it didn't cause any breathing proplems. However, it did lead to saving on the amount of beer I drank because it caused alcohol poisioning in my bloodstream. The ratio used was about one cup per 2 quart sprayer.

Since those times I've learned, adding alcohol to slip solution does nothing for the film's drying time. It simply displaces the amount of water used, which still dries at its usual rate.

    Use at your own risk.

    Update:
So I started this project with a dual-pane "tempered" (so I was told) glass bought from relocate store. Well since my father thought it was a good idea to remove the wood trim, I now have single-pane glass which the other pane broke into large sharp pieces... So obviously is not tempered which means I'm going to have replace soon.
Anyways to hang the glass I went with an aluminum angle bar and screwed it down with just enough gap to install the glass. Also have one on top for support.
Since I use up all my patients while I tinting and decided to cut corners by measuring wants and then eyeing it. 🙃 The glad extends pass the boards and I need to even everything out.

Anyone have any suggestions on what they would use to mount the glass? If so maybe a picture or link.

Hey thanks! Yeah I'm really happy with is so far honestly it's been a lot of fun but yeah it's obviously not finished yet this was just as far as I got last night. I still need to work on it which is why you don't see that lag bolt through the bottom of the vertical 4 by 4. I'm going to add a lot more accessories to it so I'll keep updating this post as I continued.
Lag bolts on using are, 5/16 in. x 5-1/2 in. Hex Zinc Plated Lag Screw.
Once I finish I'll post all the parts and prices. But I'll tell you what the hardware for this was a lot more expensive in the wood. The lag bolts alone where a dollar apiece. But I'm planning on working on her tonight and hopefully finishing it and I'm using an aluminum angle bar to support the glass.
