There's quite a few differenet sources, but here's one:

http://www.bizjournals.com/sanantonio/news/2015/02/06/xpel-technologies-buys-canadian-firm-for-3-8.html

If you sign up for Google alerts you'll receive our news and press releases as soon as they are available.  Many of our installers are also investors and keep up to date this way.

As many of you know, we prefer to dealer directly with our customers in North America to reduce the middle-men.  This gives us an excellent opportunity to do so, while allowing for better margins to reinvest in marketing and advertising to grow the awareness of XPEL and ppf to the public.  Hopefully we can learn a thing or two from the Canadians, so we can figure out how to get such a high percentage of new cars covered down here in the U.S.!

Looks like XPEL made a power play in Canada.

Buying Parasol of Canada which had 79 installation facilities / franchises.

Buckle your seat belts boys and girls.

And what is the negative to this?

Nothing for you, yet. But it does fall in line with what this thread was about. Xpel is expanding out into the installation business instead of just manufacturing film. So you can bet no matter what they say they will expand installation into every market they can and yet that will take business away from the installers already there promoting Xpel products. Pretty simple to understand.

I think there may be some confusion here.  These are not XPEL owned shops, just locations that are already installing XPEL products.

The 79 shops in Canada that you are referring to are install shops that are not owned by Parasol or XPEL.  They just have a signed contract commiting to install XPEL film.

Contracts are valable in the business world.  If you were to sell your business, you could fetch a larger value by saying that you had signed contracts with area dealerships commiting to use your services for 5 years.

As mentioned before, any locations where we have corporate installation shops were areas with little to no XPEL installers.  If there were any, we have grown their business.

What is pretty simple to understand is this is a bashing thread often with people jumping to conclusions. Sounds like some people have some relevant issues and it sounds like some people are finding anything they can to unload about. You now install Suntek so smile and keep doing what you are doing.
