They don’t get much easier! That’s not a hard one to shrink at all! Show us a pic/video of your prep for shrinking, then roll the film back up and put it away until you get some advice from just about anyone on here.

Turn off everything that can be turned of with the key on. IE interior exterior lights,a/c , radio, seat warmers etc. my standard operating procedure is key on tint driver side then start car for 5 minutes. Key on and install passenger side. This will work on most cars. GM, Ford and Hondas get a battery maintainer applied. You do not want to run out of juice as on most modern cars this will throw low voltage codes that can make a lot of lights on the dash go off. A quick drive usually turns them back off.

So I had a car in for a new door glass tinting.  Did this 13 years ago.  It is HP 05.  As you can see there is no visible fade color change.

This is a delivery vehicle that is outside all the time.

    Glad I switched.

Learned this from watching vinyl installers. When sticking lettering or logos they will torch the glass to get rid of Rainx or products like it. Works just the same on the inside.

Not enough slip agent in your water. When you're putting the film on the glass and attempting to slide it into position you're making the marks. A friend of mine who uses global told me that it has a pretty aggressive adhesive. He's a pretty experienced installer I have no reason to doubt him. But I've never actually installed Global myself.

Rear windshield has a foam that’s touches the glass from the rear sun shade assembly. So far I tinted it and have it curled against the foam. The foam is right at the edge of the dot matrix. Hopefully it can dry like that and I’ll leave it be. As for stock amp in the quarter panel I didn’t see any but I looked and saw that Audi engineers put a plastic cover to protect electronics from water. Be liberal with your slip on this one. I’ll report back on how it goes tomorrow when I finish

Peanuts happen because of irregularities on the line. Certain vehicles are more prone to them. Try using 000 steel wool to clean and thin out the lines. Here’s an old trick to get rid of stubborn peanuts. Paper wrap hard card and hold film to the line and heat to near blister. Then continue to hold will spraying slip to cool from the outside. The rapid change in temp will make the film tack.

That trick will work on most. For super stubborn peanuts you’ll need to heat before and after the line to seal off any moisture that can return to the peanut before performing above.

New information from my Tesla tech. The burned defroster on some model 3 were because of a defective batch of backglass. Tesla is aware of the issue. Maybe it will be warranted.

This is why talking to the customer is very important. The more they talk the more information you can gather from them. This lets you weed out the bad customers. A vibe check. Ill say no to alot of customer and set the proper expectations. Those customers that want it perfect usually have entry level luxury vehicles.  I’ve tinted alot of cars in 15 years and no car is perfect. Once in awhile maybe one window is perfect. I spend alot of my installation time finding the imperfections and heating it out before a customer can even lay eyes on it. This will solve many issues because once they see something they can unsee it.

Close the latch and trick the windows up. Put extra soap to give that extra slip to slide in under the seal.

Been tinting for 27 years, lots and lots of windshields, always EXTREMELY careful.  I've done jeeps, rams, Teslas (even did a model X full windshield)  thankfully I've never had anything bad happen but I have sweated bullets plenty of times.  Many of the times, I think to myself that I should have had a waiver as well.  Bottom line, a shop could be as careful as could be and stuff happens, that's why they're called accidents.  The decision the customer needs to make is if they too are willing to take the risk and have the confidence in the shop to fulfill their wants.  A shop is wanting to fulfill the wants of a customer, but sometimes there has to be certain risks that are shared.  As long as all precautions are taken, everyone should be happy.

Agree with @smookee408@yahoo.com  I like Llumar film, but hate the way they do business.  They treat the smaller shop like crap.  Good film though   Global is top notch stuff.  Haven't had any returns other than it being my fault.  Shrinks easy, installs great and last forever.  Can't say whether Xpel is really Global film.  I had heard that rumor also but we peons will probably never know the real truth.  Let's just hope it is Global so that at least it will be good product.

☝️ Im a Llumar and Global dealer. I had one ATC return once after 3 years for bubbling on the backglass. Im going to take it as a fluke. That was the only case in 12 plus years. Almost zero issues fot Global. There was an issue of curling with Global but it was traced to a QDP 30 roll. Other then those two case both have performed flawlessly.

I don't think xpel is made by Garware but i can tell you that the Global film itself will never be bad.  I've used the HP for 13 years now and NEVER had a return that was for film.  Had returns on the Llumar I used though right before I switched to Global.

It's amazing how the "real customers" with the high end, expensive vehicles don't get that picky about a speck or two.  It's always the "wanna be's" that wish they could have afforded the higher end ride but settled for what they got and now they think it's "all that" and want it to be perfect.     Those are the ones that bring a magnifying glass to the delivery of the vehicle.

I pulled a kid away from his truck because he was trying to get me to check out this spot on his rear window (20% over factory 20 mind you) that you had to look at it with your head at an angle with just the right light showing to see the quote "spots".  I made him step back about two feet and show me where the spot was.  He said " you can't see it from here, you have to look like this at it"   You just made my point sir.  Look THROUGH THE TINT, not at it.

These customers will always exist and usually have a predetermined mindset for acting that way to begin with.  You just have to learn to deal with them because they were going to act that way even if it was perfect. If you are letting crap work out the door, well that's your own fault.
