Diablo's Tint got a reaction from Tint Slayer in Thoughts on a local film company film
Sounds like a creative ad to me. New member. General questions, in depth info about his "friends film", continues to defend his friends film.

Ya I feel like I'm shaking constantly  also as I have always been.  It's just weird.  Getting weird tack too.  Making it seem like every window has Rain x on it.  But That can't be the case.   I guess I'm going to have to switch to dawn.

Ok, I"ll bite. .What is the name of this film company? What is the name of the film? Hard to help you when there is this "mystery" around who and what it is. If you really are serious about wanting help, then give us the info so we can honestly advise. However, I can tell you now....you are on the wrong path. The only thing you will accomplish with film like this is two lessons....how to put it on and how to take it off...1-3 years later I would bet.

Diablo's Tint reacted to Bham in Corny Tank Inflator (replace the compressor)
I haven't seen anyone mention this yet, so if you didn't know or haven't heard of this, well; you have now.  :your welcome

If you use a corny tank all the time and are doing mobile work on site?  You need to add the Ryobi Fast Inflator to your tool kit.     If you remember to hit the corny tanks at the shop on the compressor before you leave you are usually good for the day, and nobody likes carrying around a compressor in the van.  Well get you the fast inflator and a battery and you can recharge the corny on site without the compressor.  It works rather well actually and will get you out of a bind if you need to pressurize your tank.

Luxe is about as good as it gets...dry install which IMO leaves a cleaner installation, 5 mil thickness so thick enough to protect from rocks but not so thick it is hard to install, shrinks well when heat hits it, and a good amount of shades/designs available.  The only downside it is pricey, but as long as you price your installations right, there is plenty of profit.  The only complaint I have is they no longer carry a yellow/blue which we do a decent amount of for that JDM/Euro look.  They came out with a new version 2 that didn't include those as of yet.  I did order Vvivid this week which has similar specs as Luxe to check out their yellow/blue.  I will post back once we try it out cause it is a decent amount cheaper than Luxe.  You can buy directly from Luxe or from SolarFX since they now carry it.

The other 2 main brands used in the industry are Lamin-X and Oracal 8300.  Lamin-X is a super thick 12 mil window film which makes it difficult to install on complex lights.  I also never like the color of the film when the light is shining through it.  The 2 lighter shades had a purplish look and the 2 darker shades had a brownish look.  Oracal 8300 is the most widely used film in the industry because, surprise surprise, it is the cheapest.  It is also a much thinner film, I believe it is 2.5 mil, which means it is fairly easy to install.  However, IMO it just doesn't look amazing on a vehicle...doesn't have a high-end luxury look like Luxe.

I have had a Mac roller stool since 1991. Paid. $60 and never an issue. Changed the wheels years ago when the new style wheels came out. Buy now I've moved onto a new snap on one. Probably over paid, $250, but I love quality tools

Diablo's Tint reacted to flat rock stan in Cloth seats and door panel stained
Always recommend to cover the panels. Edge film has some really great reusable covers or home depo sells pre-mask shark skin that is pretty reasonable.
When you still get part of the cloth wet you might wet the entire area so when it drys you don't have the stain line. Just saying...works!
    Cheers

Diablo's Tint reacted to TomTint in Tint Pouch Collection
For years we just used the simple finish carpenter pouch you get at Home Depot for 10.00, on occasion, our rep  would stop in and drop off a few that were branded with the Mfrs logo. ..they were free. ..I bought one from Quick Draw..and could not get rid of it fast enough.. Recently we got a few from Mike Sanchez.. and IMO, they are the best on the market. Very very well thought out and super high quality. He also embroidered our logo in them and added our company colors on the piping.

It's not even listed anywhere yet. I'll post a pic of it when I get to the shop. I think I like it though, it seems it's almost an in between original blue max and an orange crush.

Diablo's Tint reacted to Sunbreakers in Really want llumar but can’t become a dealer in my town
Llumar will pull dealer rights to anyone they catch selling film out the back door. Regardless you cannot warranty it so it would make no sense to go that route. If everyone else is carrying it why would you want to join them? Global, Solar FX, Express all could get you a great film and you would be different and stand out. You can also set different prices....Same film=same selection=same price and you ultimately lose at that game if anyone low balls the rest of you. I would not want the same thing everyone else has. In our area everyone knows Llumar as they actually market and advertise, but Global is pretty solid as well. All depends on your area and market.

You can do it....if you can do a up front big buy like 10-15k...they might consider. No company will turn a big buy but it also have to that big every quarter or maybe months....

Not much you can do, another shop most likely won't sell to you because if caught they could be dropped.  If there is no Llumar Select Pro dealer (Formula One), you could go that route.  Same way I wanted to carry Photosync, but a dealer here as a 50-mile territory...I am around 35 miles away.

Yup.  I also noticed they don't make em like they used to. Trigger falls off while spraying. Handle comes loose because there's not enough turns on the cap. Then the reservoir falls on the ground and all the water I just made empties out. Is this covered under warranty?
