Ryker got a reaction from Jaz in 4 SALE BRAND NEW 72 INCH FILM HANDLER!
Over 8 years ago.....yeah he's still got it for sale

Ryker got a reaction from Diablo's Tint in Testing film with BTU meter
If it's on the glass is it the same vehicle?

Ryker got a reaction from Diablo's Tint in Tinter cut into rubber seals
The rubber cut is on the inside not outside so it is odd to be the Tinter that did that. Lots of frameless cars are bad about the glass going too high and tearing just like this...

Ryker got a reaction from Dano in tint brand opinions , ASWF
I used a bit of ASWF flat glass film for a few years. Did one vehicle for my mom in the HP style film. I didn't love the auto film color or feel but it did hold up well.
I know they were having issues with film claims years ago.
I have used Global HP for my auto for almost 15 years now and wouldn't dream of changing.
Zero film failure including no color change even.

Ryker got a reaction from Dano in Heat gun advice
I've only used a heat gun once in the last several years other than hanging out with Flat Rock Stan.
Mapp gas torch is my shrink tool.

Ryker got a reaction from alberts316 in Tinted Windshields Negate Windshield Sun Shades : Tinted Sunroofs=Exploding/Crack Glass
I have suntek 80 on my windshield and use the pop up shade. I've used it for 4 years and don't notice scratches from it.
I've tinted several sunroofs with regular hp auto film 20% and 5%. Never heard of any having thermal stress problems....

Ryker got a reaction from pbalentine in Mobile peel board
The car is my peel board. I use a liner to cover the panel unless the vehicle is really clean....
California reverse roll the back window.

Ryker got a reaction from Dano in Ceramic tint distortion question
You would be amazed how often we will here "that wasn't there" and it really means that the customer never noticed it.
Not saying you don't have a distorted tint or that you do have a distorted windshield, I'm just saying you might not have noticed it before.
Also the tint is a 1.5 to 2 mil thick film and it could exaggerate what is there...

Ryker reacted to Tintguy1980 in Ceramic tint distortion question
I had my 2015 Jeep windshield replaced in 2019 after it cracked due to snow sliding off the roof onto the hot sun-exposed glass, when coming to a stop.
The new one has mild wavy distortion on one side that you have to look to see at certain angles. I don't have tint on my windshield and it took awhile before I caught a glimpse of the area. That's when I looked over the entire sheet. For me, it's a no bother situ, as in not distractive enough to impact driving.
Feedback is simply to add credibility to the above quote (not that he needs it) and as tinters, we see this more often than one would think.

Ryker got a reaction from Bham in Ceramic tint distortion question
Could very well be the windshield itself is distorted. Could be the film accentuates the glass.
I've seen windshields that I couldn't believe how bad the wavy look was. I see a little on most of them if I look.
Go back and talk to them. If they do remove and refund then you look closely and actually find the glass is bad please compensate the shop....

Ryker reacted to Bham in Absentee Tint Shop Owners?
Here's the real thing!! The thing that most people who think they can "sell" or think they have what it takes to run this type of business don't think about or consider.
This is not a product that sells itself. You can't take it home and do it yourself. That has been well proven, but....
Every tint shop out there is held up by the INSTALLER, not the front counter. The front counter and salesmen have little to do with the success of a good tint shop. Anybody can sell tint to someone, but if the installer can't get it on the vehicle properly, there will never be any sales. Everything will be refunded or discounted to the point the shop will go under without someone installing proper work. The person or people behind the wall doing the work are who will determine whether your shop is a success or not.
Truth 100%

Ryker got a reaction from Tintguy1980 in XPEL window tint scratches easily?
I scratched llumar film way to easy. Found it horrible compared to global.
This was probably 5 years ago at the Performance Challenge tint off.

Ryker got a reaction from Dano in Customer says tint works better on the outside ??
I would just run away from this guy as he knows more than we do.....
Auto film on the outside vs inside of single pane glass is not going to change much. Maybe a couple percent tser but not enough to make and real difference. Reflective film might get a few more percent yet but still not enough to really notice except with some high end meter.

Ryker got a reaction from Roach in Need advice on home window film! Michigan
I would be leary of the 2nd llumar guy that was so much cheaper. I also wouldn't trust the 1st one that left you with so many choices and no real clue.
I used aswf for a bit and it has held up well enough on flat glass. Don't think I've used it in many years though. My distributor changed who he gets film from.

Ryker got a reaction from Roach in Can Llumar DR be applied on exterior? Also layer w/security film?
It is not going to stand up as well as an external film. There are external films too.
You do know the DR effect world be backwards also right?
You could put an anti-graffiti film over an external application to protect it.

Ryker got a reaction from Bham in Fingers developed after years? Or at the time of install?
I've got a couple large windows that have long lines like these that almost look like the glass cracked but hasn't. It happened years after the job was done. I think it is delaminating like was said. Can't hardly see from the outside.

Ryker got a reaction from Tint Slayer in Tint recommendations
You are probably using Global film if your getting from express. You won't find a more solid film than Global.
I've got Global HP that has over 13 years in it that looks like the day it was installed....

Ryker got a reaction from TNTLady in Where can I order Window film online?
You won't or shouldn't be able to. That would get the Llumar dealer in deep crap.
That's a very expensive film also...
