Sure as Pro tinter you tried almost everything. At times you may have even the amonia as dangerous as it's. There are many chemicals that can get the job done. Maybe a good strong beer could get the adhesive off. However, on a serious note I found the only product I have used that is fast in the sense that it liquidize the adhesive in seconds, it doesn't stain the rear-panels or seats. In fact it cleans prefectly the fabric and freshen them also. It 's a Aersol Household Carpet Cleaner: the one the removals gum, tar etc. Cheap and simple. Just spray it on and it goes to work. in 5-10 seconds just spray a second time than scrub with brillex, squeegee off and that is …

I'm new and this is the first time I've got tint applied. So it was yesterday and I had the tint put on my car, the installer said that it would look worse today because yesterday I saw a little bubble/warp/strange spot in one of my windows. Now today I see a whole bunch of them. They told me that once the film cures it would all go away. Is this normal, or is this bad?

Man I was out driving to an estimate and I saw a red Eclipse with red wheels, red interior, and red film all the way around! 5 minutes driving that thing and I'd have a serious case of road rage.

it seems so far I have the rolldown windows covered pretty well for bein noob, but this damn heatshrinking is killin me. I can do all the rolldowns and 1/4's, but when I get to the rear window, I just screw up. here's what I do, pleeeease gimme some pointers (btw I wet shrink): spray the glass with my solution, lay tint on it, cut it so its right up against the rubber gasket around rear window (still oversized), anchor right downt the middle horizontally. this is where problems begin; two of them mainly. first off, I cannot for the life of me get the fingers that pop up on the side down to the bottom. they will pop up right where I anchored the film on the left and right …

I was installing and re-tinting the RF window on a 95 aurora the other day. (tinted car @ 3 yrs ago, retint because of theft) Anyway, pulled the panel to sweep glass from door, no problems. window installed piece cut.... I frankenstiened my azz over to apply, knelt down with all my weight onto a shard or the former window. The shiat of it was I couldn't bring myself to drop the tint, just stayed there 'til I at least had it locked down. Bled pretty good, then I took it out.. soiled my good trousers and ruined my good sock .

What adhesive to use
by Guest Grayguy- 1 reply

Ok, I am trying to do my own upholstery, and I'm starting with the easiest piece. It's teh rear deck where the speakers are mounted. My question is, what should I use to attach the vinyl to the fiber board piece. I ripped teh stock felt type material off. I tried 3M "90" spary adhesive, but just a small test on the back. It didn't seem to work at all. So, what do I need to use?

A friend of mine works for a HVAC company... they put in an A/C unit this past summer, and the home owner and my friend feel the unit is having problems with cooling the kitchen due to the solar heat coming thru the windows in the summer. So they wanna look into getting the windows tinted. about 10 windows, couple of them fairly large. Aside from the % of heat the film blocks, is there anyway to give them an idea how well this will help with their situation?? Thanks!! RoAcH

The job I had last night was with Lumisty film and ALOT of cutout's and lettering and also some Vinyl. I was quiet aprehensive when I first got to the job and because of the price of the film and the fact that it was alot of cutouts and if something was to go wrong there wouldnt be any extra pieces and we wouldnt have been able to finish the job. Bt after hanging the first couple pieces it started to go pretty smooth other then the fact that when the pieces were run through a plotter they wernt cut all the way through so I had to go back and retrace all the letters and cut them out again. But all in all it went really well and the job turned out looking awsome and the gen…

Does anyone use gasket shields + install of film 1 2
by Guest chip01- 13 replies
- 1.1k views
Just got some through this morning to see what they are like. They are supposed to be a disposible tool instead of the gasket wizard. What is the best way to install with these. So far I have been panel pulling or taking panels of. So I was going to just slide the shield down over the gasket clean the window as usual then bring it down a little to do the top bit then flush the window. Then apply the film pushing the bottam in first down to the bottam Is there an easier way of doing this with less contam or ease with the gasket wizard type tool cheers

simple pink 1 2
by redneckj- 10 replies

My tip of the week is about the product called SIMPLE PINK. It is made by Bell Janitorial out of Texas. If you have never tried it to remove glue, then you are in for a treat. I use a Jiffy steamer and add ammonia to the water and steam off the old tint. For left over glue I use the simple pink and it works GREAT.
